The most important political divide is generational

All they got done during the Biden years was the destruction of the country.
The country was not destroyed, quite the reverse. The country was in much better shape in 2024 than it was in 2020.

No Trumper is in any position to accuse anyone else of destroying the country.

The GOP does not even approve of Social Security and has seriously floated proposals to privatize the system. It is not a party to vote for if you're making retirement plans.

Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. There is no 'trust fund' anymore. That money was squandered by Congress forty years ago. The current program is projected to have to reduce benefit payments starting by 2033.

You pay Social Security taxes and that money goes to retirees. By 2033 there will be more retirees and fewer people paying in to support them. It's just math.

If the program was privatized what that means is it would be converted into a 457/401k-style program where your money is forever your money and you will get out of the program only that which you paid into it plus any dividends from your investment choices.

All the system's problems can easily be solved just by making the SS payroll tax progressive, like the income tax -- which it should have been from the beginning.

The system already is 'progressive' because wealthy people who pay into it are denied proportional benefits and in some cases they get no benefit at all.

Bro not sure what your fantasy scenario is about but I'm sticking with the party that won't threaten to cut my Medicare when I'm 65.
Why are you relying on someone else to take care of you? If their only interest is financial, what if they decide YOU aren't eligible?

A majority of voters under 30 align with the Democrats; Republicans have the edge among those over 60.

This is not a stage-of-life thing -- people do not grow more conservative as they age. It is a generational-culture thing.
The data you posted doesn't support your statement. For example:

Voters born in the 1940s (ages 74 to 83 in 2023) have had a Republican tilt for the last several years – but were evenly split in their partisanship a decade ago. The Democratic Party last had an edge among this group in the first year of the Obama administration.

The above is one example; below that data entry are others that counter your statement.

It's a mixed bag. People shift based on issues. They are not locked into a 'generational cohort' like sheeple.

My dude, do you not understand that, not only is nothing for free, but nobody cares about you except you and maybe your immediate family?
That's cool you don't understand how they work my mans. It's not really for someone like you to think on.

🙅🏽‍♂️

Some day you'll be 65 and looking at retirement.

Maybe that year you'll need to choose between two candidates.

One supports policies that will cost you $1,000 per month in additional taxes which will go to support other people.

The other will support policies that will save you $1,000 per month by reducing your current taxes, allowing you to save even more money for retirement.

That's a $2,000 per month difference.
Youngster, if you are retiring, you will not save $1,000 per month in reduced taxes because you vote for a guy/girl who has that savings in their campaign plank. You will pay less taxes because your pension fund probably will not match your current household income. Most people retire that way.

Secondly, there is not a $2,000 per month difference for the retiree.

If you're evaluating how your current income changes, the relevant number is $1,000, because you either gain or lose that amount.

The $2,000 difference only matters if you're comparing the two candidates' plans against each other, not your current retirement increase or decrease.

Are you altruistic enough to vote for more taxes to support other people at your expense or, facing imminent retirement, will you vote the way that makes your retirement more comfortable?
That 65 retirement age is no longer accurate, friend; bumped to 67 for the younger kids. It's been bumped up to delay payments, which happens when we borrow money from the SS to pay other debts.
