As a deconstructed Christian, I 100% heard it and can see how much suspended disbelief is required. Which has obviously had down stream negative affects.

My life is pretty much run on deadlines, which isn't ideal but it's how it is. I've always been very good at keeping to a good structure, and if it doesn't exist I'll build it myself and stick to that.
I don't really need rewards, or specific stationary, or anything like that.

I think, self-discipline is something I don't have difficulty with.

I am a "scheduler" in those periods. For every deadline I schedule a small task in a block of time. I try to choose for a variety of small tasks, so that I don't get bored. All these small tasks lead up to - in the end - the final product. When I just follow my schedule I know I am on the right track, and that I will make it. And for that week I am completely autistic for that schedule. So don't ask me for anything, unless you're having a stroke or a heart-attack.

And yes, during these day I drink a lot of coffee

Even though I feel like I've lived 100s of lives and achieved so much and I am thriving and I have made a life that my younger self might have barely dared to imagine and I am safe and I am loved and I am raising children with stability and care.....

I still think, maybe I would have achieved more if I had to work to deadlines.

But right now I'm drinking caffeine from tea rather than coffee with my feet way up high.
