I’m so old I remember…

Old school music venues.

Capitol Theater in Passaic
Asbury Park convention center
CBGB Sunday hardcore matinees
Pipeline in Newark
City Gardens, Trenton
Dirt Club, Bloomfield
Pyramid Club NYC
Ritz NYC (I think it’s called something else now)
Irving Plaza (I think it’s still there and I think it’s still called that)
And a boatload of VFW’s, Polish American clubs, Italian American association etc that people would promote shows at, like the West Catasauqua playground in Lehigh Valley.

Those were the daze!

Usually five to $10 shows and 2 to 3 bands on the bill. None of this buying tickets online bullshit, you just showed up and paid.

I like punk rock. Back in the old days (80s), there were tons of compilation, albums, and tons of records that had all kinds of good inserts or foldout gate sleeves or even fanzines with info, pics and lyrics.

But on a good note, some labels still give you a shit ton for your money. This compilation album cost 20 bucks. A huge fold out and double splattered vinyl!

Punk’s not dead!

Doctors and Veterinarians coming to the house.
Nickel Cokes and penny candy, 25cent for a movie.
Hearing about Pearl Harbor bombing on the radio. Well my mother told me, I was 7 and didn't listen to the radio except for Jack Armstrong, and Terry and the Pirates,
