As a fairly recent Floridian, I got my hurricane cherry broke with Debbie, then Helene and Milton only a couple months apart. I got lucky all three times but hurricanes are no joke if you're even skimmed by one. Tornado watch for seven HOURS. Multiple tornadoes at a time. Flood watches. Storm surge watches.

And people actually want to move here by choice. Amazing.
