Day 21: A song that gives you goosebumps.

Untouchable Face ☆ Ani DeFranco

Because it's so damn true

My love and admiration for Ani had no bounds. I love this song, and I love it more live. The studio version comes off very earnest and angsty, but the live recording, and I really like the version on Living in Clip, has a distance, and a humor to it, like an old story told to friends over drinks -- one that still aches, but not bleeds. Just a fantastic song, and far too relatable.

Day 21: A song that gives you goosebumps
I get that feeling often with music, especially if emotions are running high. It is usually classical, often piano. But it can be anything from electronica with rumbling bass to soaring voices, choral, soundtracks, pop music, rock ballads.. genre doesn't seem to matter and I haven't found any connection other than that they create that somatic response. And it doesn't happen every time I hear the song. *Shrug*

This song found me a few months ago and immediately created frisson. Since it's the most recent discovery, I'll share it.

Day 21: A song that gives you goosebumps

This song is one of those that I have to listen to in headphones, or in the car, or with the speaker turned up and placed by your ear. (Or in good speakers, of course.)
It gives me goosebumps and I can feel it in my veins. It tickles my brain just right.

“I have the dream again, I have the dream again
My ego dies at the end, it's ego death
I live the dream like I still don't know what it meant
Who am I? I've lost the thread
My ego dies at the end”

Day 21: A song that gives you goosebumps

Goosebumps from music; frisson. I love that word. When the singer hits a note perfectly, and you just melt into a vaguely humanoid puddle... A second petit mort 🥰

Music transcends language, doesn't matter if the lyrics are complete rappakalja.
So here's some icelandic indie rock 💕

Day 21: A catchy song

Don't blame me, blame science...

"According to the study, the catchiest song of all time is "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, released in 1996. The song scored the highest in the study's catchiness index, which measured how quickly a listener could identify and recall a melody after hearing it just once. "Wannabe" was found to have a simple but memorable melody, a strong and consistent rhythm, and a chorus that is easy to sing along to."

Day 22: A catchy song

This one is super catchy IMO. I’ll never forget the first time I heard it, maybe 83 or 84 on the radio! It was college radio from Lafayette college. On good nights you could get a signal. I was driving up Sliker road. Remember it vividly.
