As a long-time owner of giant dogs (Great Danes) who is now a year in to my first small dog experience (French bulldog), I can confirm that the small dogs provide some real benefits, especially during house training and in terms of ready portability.

The bias against big dogs in public places is also real

I can't respect most little dogs, I've tried, I just cant! But, Frenchies & Mini Doxies are on my short list of the best of the cat-dogs

I've had Weimaraners for the last 15+ years. We had to put our 2nd down last week, a d lost our old guy last year. So, we're down to just our baby dog, who's only 3. She sad & lonely. I need to get her a buddy, but I don't want another puppy phase!

Its certainly a different experience owning a small dog and a large/giant one. I'm surprised that I've enjoyed the Frenchie as much as I have. Perhaps I'm settling in to a midlife acceptance phase.
