Nationalism has done entirely too much harm in the world, even in its most innocuous forms. Do not tolerate it any more. Start thinking in terms of a World State as the goal in the very long run. In the short run, never vote for any pol with a nationalist message.

Trump is purportedly repurposing Memorial Day this year, instead of honoring American war casualties, it will be the kickoff for a solid YEAR of "National Pride", which will run from Memorial Day 2025 until America's 250th Birthday on July 4, 2026! It will star Donald J. Trump, of course. All eyes on him, he is the people's president!

After all, Ttrump won all 50 states in 2024 and will win all 51 if the people want him back for a third term (assuming King Charles bends the knee and cedes Canada to the USA).

He has no imagination. A POTUS who played his cards right could be Emperor of the whole world!

And then we'd have our World State! :)

I heard he’s renaming the Great Lakes and Grand Canyon. And he’s torn on how to rebrand the Finger Lakes.

Just remember this the next time you hear someone talk about the importance of "borders" -- borders are the problem and should not be allowed to exist.

Oh absolutely, because if history has taught us anything, it's that concentrating global power in one guy's hands always works out great. Just ask every empire that no longer exists.

For the people who live in those empires, it's an improvement over fighting neighboring nations. The Pax Romana was more than propaganda.

Pax Romana was Rome's 200-year golden age of peace, trade, and strategic road-building, basically, the Empire slapping a “Do Not Disturb” sign on half the known world. Tampax, on the other hand, brings its own monthly treaty of tranquility, enforced not by legions, but by absorbent cotton and quiet resignation. One pacified Gaul, the other pacifies hormonal warfare. Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon; Tampax crosses the aisle at CVS. Both are empires in their own right, one ruled by emperors, the other by cycles. History doesn’t repeat itself, but sometimes it rhymes... awkwardly. I hope this doesn't "cramp" your style. :D

When come back, bring relevance.

Sure, and I’ll also bring my tom-tom for dramatic effect... dun dun-DUN-dun dun...complete with a sacred eagle, and a thousand-yard stare that sees right through your argument. Get ready for some ancient wisdom... and maybe a tomahawk of truth. :D

Do not attempt poetic language.

Pope Leo criticizes political nationalism and prays for reconciliation and dialogue

VATICAN CITY — Pope Leo XIV criticized the surge of nationalist political movements in the world as he prayed Sunday for reconciliation and dialogue — a message in line with his pledges to make the Catholic Church a symbol of peace.

The pope celebrated Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Square in front of tens of thousands faithful, and asked the Holy Spirit to "break down barriers and tear down the walls of indifference and hatred."

"Where there is love, there is no room for prejudice, for 'security' zones separating us from our neighbors, for the exclusionary mindset that, tragically, we now see emerging also in political nationalisms," the first American pontiff said.
