You are adding statements that are not evidenced in the article: a place known to use drugs, and gangs came there to buy them. Okay, let the DA charge them, and better lawyers defend them, and see if a jury finds that sufficient. I'll buy that as justice.

I didn't prove anything. I cited some relevant cases that point out the government still has the onus of proving the drugs belonged to the parties there, not that the arrested have to prove the contrary. The cases also point out that the jury is allowed to make inferences about some of those matters–the DAs still have the burden of proof, not the other way around, as you implied.

It's called a doctrine. Which is used by the courts when deciding cases/controversies involving 2 or more defendants who each deny committing the crime.

The cases it's used in are the legal precedent. Giving you the doctrine should have explained the concept which you could have applied to the known facts and come to a conclusion.

Giving you case citations will do nothing for you because you wouldn't understand the underlying legal principles.

I think it will hold some water. If I was really going to take a hard stance for the illegal immigrants living here in my county I would be inviting them to live in my basement to keep them protected but that’s not my responsibility because I don’t know their history and I’m not sure they would tell me the absolute truth if I asked them. We live in a country full of folks who can’t even obey simple traffic laws. We have dumbed down so many laws that we’ve almost became numb to them and think they don’t apply anymore. We are insulted by our own laws and those who enforce them. We have so many things we can be mad about these days but we have even more things we can be thankful for.

Yah, we also just revoked refugee status for thousands of people fleeing violent dictatorships, some of which spent decades supporting our troops in harm's way, and are currently shipping them to El Salvador.
