Just realised my comment might have been interpreted as my thinking Aussies are wimps when it comes to temperature. I'm always amused to see Aussies wrapped up against the cold when it is the sort of temperature when we in Britain might still be in T-shirts. It's all about what you get used to. I remember working with an Aussie lad in a plastic forming factory. One night, he told me that when he told people he was coming to the UK, a girl who had been here told him, "In the summer, go as far south as you can get. Then you will only need two jumpers." We were both wearing T-shirts and shorts, standing outside to cool off as the temperature in the factory had risen to 43C.
