Harvard apologizes for antisemitism after October 7th

It is not a fight about free speech.
And your ascription is fun but incorrect.

As I mentioned, the reports are available. If you'd like to discuss their conclusions based on facts, then I'm open to that. Oddly enough, you provided that sources them

Students should feel safe on campus.
It didn't start out as a "fight against free speech", that is correct.
A lot of people, myself included, have an issue when a sovereign nation takes it upon itself to annihilate every living member of the people they feel have wronged them.

It's genocide, plain and simple. And please don't embarrass yourself by claiming otherwise at this late date.

So anyway, people don't like genocide, they protest against it.

Then authorities tell them they're not allowed to protest this genocide, so people get very upset.

Israel can no longer be considered a "civilized" nation.

Sadly, American Jews...hell, Jews everywhere outside of Israel, are likely to suffer the consequences of their barbarian cousins halfway around the globe.

No one is suggesting that you are wrong to have that position.

Your opinion is well documented here.

So anyway, people don't like genocide, they protest against it.
And they are welcome to do so. No one is actually saying otherwise.

Then authorities tell them they're not allowed to protest this genocide, so people get very upset.
Nobody is saying that.

Your opinion is noted

So what part of this is about the OP where Harvard has apologized for antisemitism and antiIslam bullshit that is taking place on its campus? Which part discusses the report which documents suggestions from their task force to increase student safety on campus?

https://www.jta.org/

“Harvard University’s president has apologized for the campus climate over the last year and a half, in a letter accompanying a long-awaited report from a university task force on antisemitism and anti-Israel bias.

The task force found that Jewish and Israeli students at Harvard experienced pervasive ‘shunning’ and were relentlessly targeted for their identities by both peers and faculty in the days and months after Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, according to the report, released Tuesday.”

The contents of the report are pretty awful and the vilification would not have be tolerated if it had been directed at any other minority group.
Harvard was stuck between a rock and a hard place, made exponentially worse by Jewish billionaire oligarch Bill Ackman.

It's been a long time since Vietnam, the last major campus unrest, and universities as a whole didn't react in a timely manner. That's the university's fault.

Ackman has used his status as a major donor to attempt to influence Harvard's curriculum and curtail traditional free speech on campus. He strongarmed major changes to the traditional definition of "antisemitism" into Harvard's code of conduct, basically codifying ANY criticism of the government of Israel and or the Israeli Zionist movement as the new definition of "antisemitism".

He put his money where his mouth was and spent quite a lot of money on facial recognition software to identify anyone and everyone at any pro=Palestine/anti-Genocide protest. Any positively identified Arab was sent to the Israeli government who in turn gave the newly installed Trump 2.0 regime an "enemies list" of students Israel and Ackman wanted deported.

Then he went after the "Bad Jews", Jewish students who opposed Israel's genoide. "Somebody" got the list of identified Jewish students at the anti-Genocide protests and hired the "doxxing" trucks with the large video screens to publicly call out "the worst antisemites at Harvard". Jews shaming Jews, who woulda thought?

And then the right wing hate group Accuracy in Media took this one step further, hiring their own "doxxing trucks" with even more information (email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses) of Jewish students protesting Israel with the caption "you know what to do". Mmm hmm.

This was MY key takeaway from the report you linked (which overall quite surprised me at how fair and unbiased the reporting actually was, which I admit I did not expect from a site where the first word is "Jewish"):

Many of the students correctly recognized that there was less "let's try and build a bridge" dialogue on campus and more of a "pick a side" mentality. Welcome to the age of Trump, kids! It's not just college campuses.

I personally believe Netanyahu's Gazan ethnic cleaning campaign prompted quite a number of fence sitters to get off the fence. An inexact analogy would be Trump declaring war on, say, Venezuela and demanding unconditional support for his "wartime presidency" to present a united front against the enemy.

And I predict continued attempts at "criminalizing" the protest of Israeli policy by labelng any criticism of Israel as "antisemitic hate crime" will backfire spectacularly on "diaspora Jews".

10/7 and the subsequent efforts of the pro-"Palestine" crowd to elect DonOld have yielded amazing dividends…

😑

🤬

Meanwhile:

Putin and American Christo-fascists (MAGAts) are laughing their asses off as they reap the benefits / exploit the opportunities presented.

The report did not go after anyone in regards to their suggestions.

It said that protests (of all) should not be allowed in certain parts of campus (for all)

People aren't reacting to things.
People are reacting to the idea of things.

I do agree that there are troubling conclusions being made on facts. But the reaction is premature as nothing has been implemented.

Israel is not an apartheid state, is not a product of settler-colonialism, and is not committing genocide. When you criticize Israel by repeating these common lies, I'll call it antisemitism.
Respectfully, I disagree.
Louis Theroux did a great job of interviewing some swivel eyed nationalist settlers and well... They do a pretty good job of condemning themselves.

They certainly have no business planting settlements on the West Bank. That is settler colonialism.

The "Palestinians" & their allies, with their incessant wars (jihads), terror attacks, and gray zone warfare, provided all the incentive AND justification the Israelis’ needed for expanding their “security buffer zone” (which inevitably requires / required “support settlements”) in The West Bank.

Oops…

😑

Other way -- the settlements require increased Israeli security. The settlements were not built to defend territory west of the Green Line.

🙄

It is INEVITABLE, when the military pushes out borders / boundaries and sets up camp (forts / bases), that support infrastructure will pop up and INEVITABLY turn into "support settlements".

It has happened before…

We don't always agree on politics but at least you are a big enough person to admit that Dems are not always right and there needs to be a middle ground which we are no where near right now.

What does that letter have to do with “Dems”???

🤔

Is all protest against killing Gazans antisemitic?

Protesting against the deaths of Gazans while being silent about why the Gazans are getting blasted is by omission an endorsement of killing Jews. The very heart of antisemitism.

Really no difference between Gazan women and children and Hamas as far as you are concerned?

It is not inevitable. No settlement was ever built but by the government's decision.

Kamala Harris and Joe Biden did represent the middle ground on Israel. They provided Israel with arms while insisting they address humanitarian needs in Gaza. They were excoriated by the left for promoting "genocide" which helped get Donald Trump elected.
