Of course some restrictions make sense, completely agree, like anything illegal, zoophilia, and stuff like that.

But banning all erotic material that doesn't break any laws or common sense norms from an erotica site is just quite the contradiction!

There are so many different sections with sublinks. If, as the original article states, some people are concerned when they are viewing an ADULT website in public that they may come across a nude that a stranger can see, then why not have a section with WARNING Nude allowed. If the pervs then choose to open those in a public setting, that is their problem.

If you're afraid of people seeing nude images while looking over your shoulder, then why are you browsing erotica in public in the first place?
Nobody forced you to open Literotica on the bus or at work or wherever.
You CHOSE to go to an erotic site. You CHOSE to go to the Illustrated stories section. Pictures popping up there was not a surprise.
If you're here on the forums in the Amateur PIC Feedback section, you know before opening a single thread that there are PICTURES here.
If you thought you weren't going to see nudity on the PICTURES section of an EROTIC website, you're a fool.
Pictures here on Lit don't just magically appear.
You have to make multiple conscious choices and clicks to ever see a single picture, even if that picture is openly posted without a link.
Do not cry to the management because you made the decision yourself to go to an ADULT EROTICA website to knowingly read illustrated stories or look at picture threads.
We shouldn't have to be penalized because supposed adults cannot comprehend that maybe your brick sized phone is viewable to people behind you.
We're all here to enjoy erotica and to communicate with other adults who enjoy sexuality.
Maybe put a ban on the people too stupid to understand what kind of site this is.

This! This is a very sensible proposition.

All in all, let's refine the usage rules and make them super clear and mandatory to everyone, and let those who don't follow them reap the consequences.

But if those usage rules explicitly call for a full ban of nudity on an fully erotica-centered site, then it wouldn't surprise me to see a large portion of its audience no longer finding much use for it to begin with.

If you would like to have a voice toward keeping (appropriate) nude pics flowing on the best website please add a message to this thread. Personally I joined to read stories, then submitted some of my own, but I do enjoy flicking through some of the readers nude images and illustrated stories

Personally, I would love nothing more than to read erotic stories on the long bus ride to and from work, but I choose not to, mainly because the first thing that pops up when i log in is a strip of advertising for webcam models. The other reason As several members have commented, this is an 18+ site, and people need to use their brains and determine if they think it is appropriate to open the site when they will possibly be caught looking at it.

This site apart from the roots of publishing erotic stories, allows members to express themselves via sharing images of themselves. For anyone who has ever done this and received positive feedback on their pictures (and all I see is positivity in members replies), you will know it is a thrill. This is quite liberating for the posting members and also generally appreciated by the members viewing the pics.

Yes the net is full of other easily accessible porn sites, but I feel it would detract from the existing site if the ability to share appropriate nudes is removed.

We fully support this petition not to ban nude images. This is the best forum we've ever found for our pics and we'd hate to see this opportunity disappear.

It doesn't make sense to get rid of the AmPic forum when so many people get so much pleasure out of it.

If I am in a public space, why on earth would I be reading erotica in any shape or form

Someone reading over my shoulder, would it be ok for them to read sexually explicit words / stories - of course not.

An easy compromise could be reached here , if a thread is posted, it has the option to allow or ban pictures and a label attached to see clearly whether pictures are allowed on the thread, this done by original creator of the thread

That way when these people are on the bus looking at erotic sites (surely illegal) they at least know which threads can contain pictures

As for people’s avatars showing nudity - as long as it’s actually them posting it - freedom of expression and choice on an erotic site - why click to enlarge the image if you don’t want to see it

I fully support this petition against the banning of nude images here on LT. I thought this was a site that stood up for freedom of speech and no censorship , where consenting adults can enjoy communicating with both images and text. Please do not change.

In the 45 posts so far in this “petition,” there are at least 3 members who get reported all the time for posting pictures of girls who look far too young to be shared here (I can only speak to the handful of forums I moderate).

And for everyone threatening that there will be less traffic here, I don’t think the forums generate revenue for Lit, just cost.

I am hopeful that AmPics can continue and folks can post images of themselves (likely hosted elsewhere and shared here via clickable link), but the never ending tumblr/blog type image threads on other forums that are filled with copyrighted images that are just found on the net, I see that very differently and support them disappearing.

I believe SFW reaction gifs are okay and the site even has an easy mechanism for sharing them. I also believe GIFs do fall under fair use.

There's not much more I can add that hasn't already been said!

I accept that there has to be rules and guidelines - that goes without saying. But to impose a ban on posting nude pictures is beyond comprehension - especially in todays day and age.

I came to Literotica through a recommendation of a friend - I was hesitant at first from being on other Forums, but was pleasantly surprised once I'd settled here.

Whilst you will ALWAYS have the rule-breakers who think that they're big and clever, and post images and articles to shock rather than engage with the Lit community, the majority of people here are pretty switched on, savvy and generally abide by the rules.

I have met some wonderful people here, and formed some very close friendships! ...and it saddens me deeply that, I and they, are being punished for being ADULTS.

I cannot believe that a site that has stood the test of time on the Internet, and has flourished into something quite remarkable, is about to come crashing down. I believe someone here has already mentioned the affect it had on Tumblr when they imposed a ban on nudity. From being at the pinnacle of Erotica Websites and Forums it has plummeted and has and will never regain the status and respect it used to have.

If the powers that be at Literotica decide to go ahead and go down this path, then it will follow in the footsteps of Tumblr and others of a similar ilk.

I for one, was one of the ones who cancelled my account with Tumblr when this happened, and I am sad to say I will do the same again with Literotica - and I know I will not be the only one!


Erotica and the social acceptance of nudity has come a long way since the baring of the first ankle being depicted in an image.

I find it odd that several of the posters in this thread are among the ones who have committed large numbers of image rules violations resulting in many of their posts (in some cases, hundreds) being removed or edited.

We've been trying to tell you for a very long time to follow the rules regarding explicit images and posting images you don't own the legal rights to. We've repeatedly linked to the long standing site wide image and content rules. We've posted and updated them at the tops of various boards.

We've flat out told you to stop, warned you to stop and cautioned that if it continued, rules would be changed in a way your wouldn't like.

Well, now, here we are.

You really have no one to blame but yourselves.


To be honest, I wouldn't be totally surprised if Admin fully disallowed ALL images.

If you know who is breaking the rues re posting images and they have been warned, why don't you have a three strikes and out rule? Ban the problem not the rest of the people who have developed good relationships on here.

I have posted only a few photos on here, within the rules I believe and I object to the way you use very general 'several posters" comments - just ban them, (unless your systems can be got around) and your "you have no one to blame but yourselves" condescension to the majority of users. I'm in favour of moderation of forums and doing the best to keep things legal which is a huge and difficult job for you all in the current climate, but try not to use a scatter gun approach if at all possible. The majority after all love Lit as much as the owners and mods - Just saying, and trying not to add to the upset.
