D H Lawrence might have thought it. Jane was the original name for the Lady Chatterley character, who was later named Connie, Jane getting downgraded to the name for Lady C's 'lady bits' in the final published novel Lady Chatterley's Lover. That's where the original John Thomas became Oliver, and John T just his dangler.
EDIT: Of course, they're all called Jane, in honour of their Janes, the chief attraction in these pictures.
