Where do you stand on this issue?

There's currently a proposal to significantly loosen Florida's child labour laws. Advocates say that it puts control back into the hands of parents, opponents say that this is just a way to fill the immigrant labour gap at the expense of child welfare.

I'm going to let you guys Google it for yourself, because it's 5.30am and the hunt for an unbiased source that won't immediately offend either side just feels like far too much for a Monday morning.

Young people need to be in school getting a proper education. Theres a lifetime ahead for work.

Pay living wages and there will be plenty of workers.

Get rid of public education and bring back child labor. A return to an absolute class system in America.

I fixed it for ya! Yes let's stick with passing out rubbers to 2nd graders, convince boys they are girls, feminize the boys who are left, teach sex education to 2nd graders and use porography as a "teaching aid", outlaw the Pledge of Allegence, encourage kids to identify as an animal and teaching them their parents aren't their bosses! What could possibly go wrong? The good news is, that will now be a part of history!

It's action = reaction and nothing more. One faction of society wants to treat children as toys or possessions, the other reacts and says that kids need to learn adult skills earlier in life "to protect them."

I'm all for leaving them (and each other) alone. Period.

Child labor is how farmers' kids become farmers. We will need many more farmers. Apprenticeships starting in the early teens are how skilled workers learned their trades for most of the history of civilization, and probably will be again in the postindustrial world. Most of the abuse starts when the kids' bosses are corporations and other criminal organizations, not parents or local tradesmen.
