The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Glad ur training is behind you and you are ready to go!

Plus your back home and your cat is insanely happy to see you!
Heh, I wasn't clear. I'm back home for the weekend. I head back tomorrow. What should have been 2.5 weeks out of town may stretch to 4 depending on factors outside my control. That said, it's sunny outside and in the 50s, my cat is deliriously happy to have me home, and I have absolutely nothing beside laundry left to do today. I plan to enjoy that.

So, all you nurses out here. What or how do you treat what I'm guessing is Achilles tendonitis. Calf is sore, but below the head of the muscle. Seems to be tendon or maybe soleus. Annoying as hell, and hurts to walk. Going on a week now. Some days worse than others.

Trying gentile stretching, light walking right now.
Rest ice compress elevate. Take it easy when painful. Ibuprofen if you can tolerate.... gentle stretching and massage if not painful... I would say if it goes on or worsens make appt with doc to .make sure

I have talked to this lot about this with my plantar fascism in my left foot. I was hating Life. I went to a (young) foot doctor and she was kindly and helpful but I think I got better advice here, and I did some thinking.

Hold on to your testicles . . . .

Freeze a bottle of water and roll it under your foot some. Ice packs are decent, too. The plantar and the Achilles both make things feel tight in your calfs. Best way to stretch those is on a stair, heels over the edge and down to pull the calfs. Make sure you hold onto the rail so as not to lose your balance. 2-3-4 minutes a day is quite helpful. I found some shoe inserts with more arch support to be helpful, too. Walmart has some stuff in the foot section at the pharmacy that helps, too, to keep a bit of pressure up on the plantar. It's all tied together.

Of this mixed bag of stuff, I think the stretching has been of the greatest benefit.

I appreciate that the company I'm training with has a mandatory stretching exercise every morning (we join a teams call on our phones) and they encourage us to stretch again after lunch. Nice to work for people who don't just say "we care about your health and safety" they actually make time for both.

Good Morning or whatever time applies...
Last night was hell for Lady K!
I know I can speak freely here, but I'm sorry to say all this. Thanks for being here for me. 💜 🫂 :rose:
You're welcome. And I echo everyone else in saying you don't need to be sorry. That's what this group is about. Supporting each other. Sending you both all the good thoughts I have.

That's a damned fine idea. My issue is that I'm lame about keeping a stretching schedule.

What a day. Because we had the water heater leak a few weeks ago, we are cleaning up the basement.

Pulled out the drop ceiling today.

Cleaned cleaned and then cleaned some more. We have a cleaning and mold remediation team coming on Monday.

And had a bunch of wood to split today too, so got a half cord done.

Now wife and I going to see Murphy’s law and agnostic front tonght in Jersey city.

I’ll haveta catch up later.

There are two forms of motivations. If you don't join on a regular basis one of the soops will call to find out what's been going on. On the other hand, the area manager told our class that he's rewarded a random person from a given call will lunch on the company at least once a month for the last year. Let's see....five minutes paid to listen to a brief safety talk and stretch with the possibility of a $25 gift card to my preferred lunch spot, or a call from my supervisor asking why I haven't been joining in...easy choice for me. :)

Hope you both have a great time tonight!

Enjoy your evening out! It's evident you and Mrs. W earned it....

Yeah, I follow work directions pretty well. I would get behind that.

So, there is this TDK critter what lives at Wat's house. This will come as a shock to you, but that gorgeous wee girl is quite a curtain climber. As in, very. She doesn't just jump up and hang but rather she'd adjust her feetses and go on up the things. I'm tired of convincing old rods not to look bent - she weighs a bit - so I decided to angle some 3" screws into the wood work and put the curtains on . . .

a piece of 1/2" re-enforcing rod. Four feet long. She watched me try out the first one, but all she wanted to climb was the step ladder.

It's ready for her.

She is ready for the cat Olympics

You'll be here long after the "moderator" has shuffled off this mortal site. You have to break Actual Rules to be put out, and that can be a bit slow.

Unless you're Busybody, in which case, it will be faster.

The gym in this room is ready.

I'll look for curtains for the front room tomorrow while shooping.

She's trashed the blinds in there.

I know, we're not surprised.
Tdk is determined... every athlete needs new equipment every once in a while....

I saw someone use metal pipe for curtain rods before
