It’s a joke
I have a love/hate relationship with the INTJs in my life. My husband, for one. And Pez, someone I’ve been friends with for a year+. These are not Lit men. I would say the majority of my irl romantic interests have been with INTJs.

Besides, it has to be taken as a whole. The entire Introverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging add together to make a sometimes harsh personality. Since INTPs share this, I often mean INTX is hard for an ENFP like me to deal with. I call the INTXs cold robots for a reason.

When the MBTI references Judging it doesn’t mean having someone sit back and judge us. It’s meaning in MBTI is a preference for a structured, organized, and decisive approach to life, valuing closure and making decisions quickly. See, that’s not bad. It’s opposite is Perceiving which is more flexible in thinking and action.

No matter how many times it’s explained that ENFP+INTJ is the original golden couple, I don’t understand it on paper. But I live it daily so I believe it.

Holy shit. I need an abbreviation thesaurus just to figure out all the abbreviations. Hold on, let me reread your first post and try to fill in some blanks, especially the one between my ears.

They really mean nothing. It apparently was a huge failure to make a lighthearted joke. So many people here use any variety of acronyms that I struggle to follow the context of the conversation. Didn't mean interject my goofiness and disrupt the flow of the conversation.

A couple months ago I voiceclipped my affair partner about an incident in the woods once I made it back to my car safely. Fucker didn’t register the panic or how upset I was. Made a joke instead.

It took me pointing out bluntly how trapped and scared I felt. And how if it had happened to his daughters he’d be in the woods immediately hunting the man down.

So yeah, I think it’s appropriate to call it inhuman to not be able to experience or show empathy until processing is complete. I also suspect he cognitively reacts appropriately rather than feels his response.

I think a component of what you’re saying is accurate. Fear is a base emotion and one that even antisocial psychopaths can recognize in others. While they can recognize it I. Others they can’t empathize (or feel for the other). So your description of him processing the information before being able to understand (as long as he does not posses psychopathology in his character) then sounds accurate. I would describe that as a mild dissociation on his part. Not a clinical level. But a dissociation never the less. I would suspect a trauma in his past.

Yes…we often dug into some things that happened as a child which caused his emotional unavailability and Avoidant tendencies. I get it. There was no space for him to learn or express emotions. But he’s over a half century old. Time to heal that if he wants to connect with people the way he insists he does.

Obviously I’m not able to be unbiased in my thoughts on the subject. Even recently he had centered himself in everything to do with us.
