I hope he proves it's a driving style issue for the rest of the year, and then bounces to AM next year, forcing Stroll out. Liam wasn't ready for the main seat.

I do think the true pace of the Red Bull car is some where between where Max has been putting it, and the front of the mid field. I guess we'll find out in Q1 Friday night (West coast, US here).

I'm not sure if I'm rooting for Max to take 5 championships in a row, but i think it would be hard not to laugh if Oscar beats Lando to his first title at McLaren.

I think Lando's biggest hburdle is his head. He needs to 1-not be as nice/worry about how he is perceived/be more aggressive. MAx wouldnt stand for half the shit that LAndo has to do/has done.
Also McLaren fucked over Lando last year bigtime.
That said, Oscar wont wait in the wings beyond this year I dont think. Its going to come to a head and I dont know who leaves first.

With Red Bull, yep, Yuki or Danny Ric shouldve got the seat the last half last year. And I think theyve peaked (RB) and Max will bolt as soon as he can. AM makes a ton of sense with the money pouring in there, Honda, Newey...and Fernando is basically done, and Stroll fucking sucks. I am not rooting for Max though. Ever. Amazing driver but no, it isnt good for F1 either to have a year like 2 years ago. Im hoping Lando takes it this year if it isnt Charles or Lewis. A decent prediction is that the final order will end up something like

Max
Charles
Oscar
George
Oscar

if McLaren prioritze Lando, he can do it. If not, itll be Max.

I started watching F1 in 2000 during the Schumacher/Barrichello era. Back when Ferrari knew what they were fucking doing. I remember Schumi's engine blowing up after his first stop here at Suzuka in 2005 which pretty much gave Alonso his maiden title. I would like to see another driver get 5 in a row. I was disappointed Vettel couldn't do it.

I saw Alonso, Webber, Raikkonen and Massa debut, back when Red Bull was the main sponsor of Sauber, and Sauber was a really good midfield team.

I miss the scream of the V10s. Desperately. I've not enjoyed the sound of the turbo 6s.

Pretty much at the end of FP1. Only .107 splitting Max and Yuki in 5th and 6th. Hadjar .311 over Lawson in 8th and 13th respectively.

It's only FP1, so it doesn't say all that much, but so far, it just looks like a driving style issue.
