What was equally traumatic to me, was when I found out my favorite hamburger place in Portland, that had been there since 1949 or 50… was not just closed, but torn down, gone. I still haven’t recovered.

I took a mentor of mine there in the early 90’s for lunch. He was a wonderful, large man. On the way back to work he commented he could not believe he was completely stuffed after only having had one of their 1/2 pound burgers. . I remember thinking they should be able to use that in an ad or something… when you satisfy a 350 pound guy with one burger? You got it right.
