The emoji vote is brutal.

This feels really surreal. NYC and Disney world used to be on people's dream holiday list.

Canadians are dropping the US as a travel destination, and the Canadian government has issued a travel advisory about the US. Trump want the country to be a fortress, fine by me. I don't have to buy American products or visit the US. Let us see how long the US economy can grow in a closed loop.....

Trump tends to say the quiet part out loud, or mix up facts. He has said the US doesn't need anything from Canada. Where the reality is, they do need our Lumber, Oil, Electricity and a bunch of other products. Without them their economy will face major inflation and enter stagnation.

Canada on the other hand doesn't need to import any vital material or products. Sure we'll see a decrease in variety and some foods will once again only be available seasonally. But it won't crash our economy, nor drive up inflation. At most about a year to adjust and we're back on an even keel.

Lets see who caves first. I'm think it's Trump.

We have much better biscuits and chocolate in the UK, so get stuck in :)

Canada doesn't view the US as an ally any longer, they are now the enemy. Many industries are feeling the effect of Canadians cancelling their trips to the US. Canadians will spend billions elsewhere.

Yeah right. You can't swing a dead cat in Florida without hitting 10 Canadian snowbirds. :)
The same is true of our National Parks. I drive through Yellowstone and Teton National Parks quite often, and they are always full of foreign tourists during the season.

I was there last year, it was okay, but the cuisine was not impressive.
Like every popular tourist destination, the locals know where the good food is at and the tourists get fed a lesser version.
The very best food is often served in places that never court tourists, because they have a reliable local customer base already.

IMO, uk cheese and chocolate is superior to the American version, and that's a hill I'm willing to die on.

Still seeing Canadians here in Minnesota, but we’re neighbors and have sanctuary cities

Have to say we're planning a visit this summer because my wife's American and she's homesick but I'm a bit worried, no shit. My social media presence is not exactly uncritical of the tangerine palpatine and his bromies.

I think that many Canadians will ignore the boycott and travel advisory because they understand that underlying both is nothing but politics instead of reality.

I stayed at the Royal Horseguards Hotel the fare was decent. I had a Tomahawk steak that was fairly good. One of the people I met there was ticked that their scones and cakes were all made offsite by vendors, which kind of surprised me as many of the better Hotels I've stayed at had in-house bakeries. But I'm not a big pastry eater anyway so that didn't bother me. The rooms were nice and I got some good pictures of the park close by and the river.

They must want to get away from those horrible winters . . . but there's always Mexico.
Winter's arn't horrible. Look at the map and you also notice there are a lot more Canadians further south than a lot of Americans.

Check it out this season and get back to us. Between the lack of parks personnel and tourists, I'm sure you'll be thrilled.

Not to be argumentative (well....maybe just a bit ;) ) but enjoy your "better chocolate" whilst you can.

Your new American masters (Kraft, d/b/a Mondosomething) is hard at work cheapening the Cadbury brand in the name of profit. Smaller sizes, higher prices, fancier wrappers and worst of all, substituting sugar and wax for, y'know, actual CHOCOLATE).

I'd question the motive and/or sanity of anyone visiting the Fortress America whilst Trump presides on His throne. Shirley there are other places that might be more welcoming!?!

The food reviews aren't outstanding... But hotels have a bit of a captive audience 🤷‍♀️
I think the sweet spot is places that fit 20 - 60 customers. Any bigger and you can taste more production line than love.

The Derplord routinely gets confused between his fever swamp opinions and the reality-based world.
I blame his VA opioids.
I'd agree, this might explain his seeming fucked up understand of reality. I wonder if subsidises it with some of that imported Canadian fentanyl?
