🔮 What are you doing right now? 🔮

Drinking coffee and plotting out the outline of my novel. I love the research and outline phase!

Just wondering if there is a time limit on crushes before they become something else. I met this girl in 2018 when she was student - cute, bright, and barely legal. I did not take much notice of her then, but a couple of years later she became a fascinating young woman with whom I have a significant intellectual and cultural compatibility, and I started crushing on her. Five years later, I am still crushing hard despite the fact that I have a functional marriage to a woman I love.

Please don't advertise Lao, the gentle people and food . It's about 1.5 hour from where I'll retire.
Still a walking gem, and I love to say hello.

Crushing is ok and can be fun.
Cheating is not.

Cheating is hell. I slipped up once as a horny 19 year old, and it cost me big time. Ultimately I lost a girl who would have been a excellent wife, and probably a good mother too when she had finally talked me into kids.

Crushing without obsessing is fun. However, with personality there is a danger of obsession, so I have to be careful. It is not going well today. I can see potential for crush and I getting together at some point in the future - should I end up a widower, and she cannot find a man closer to her in age. We'd have pretty kids too....

Sounds like infatuation, which makes sense - it’s easy to let someone grow in your mind over time, especially when you haven’t had to deal with the everyday parts of them.

The fantasy is usually much more satisfying than the reality.

Using my hunter-gatherer skills to locate where I placed the hard-boiled eggs I made to have with breakfast...

Wondering if my second cup of coffee is sufficiently cool enough to drink (yes, I'm weird, I put hot coffee in the fridge to get cold before drinking it, it's better that way!)
