The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Our building g is a 2 story brick building...it will be beautiful once we git it fixed up...it was neglected and had bad people living in it.... prob making meth.... it smelled like cat pea burnt plastic and dead animals when we took possession. It was owned by the odd fellow society
It will take some work to clean it. I'm glad you're doing it and preserving the building.

There's an old Odd Fellows building downtown here. I haven't been over that way in a while, so I don't know what has become of it. I'm sure it's renovated and not bulldozed.

There is a church/school in the town I'm working in that it a slice of Colonial Williamsburg. The center building looks like it's styled after the Governor's Palace. It's a styling I strongly support. This area was built on that.
I really love old buildings!

A weekend or so ago I got some quail eggs from our local farmers market. I assume about as fresh as it gets other than watching them drop and grabbing. Well…they were good buuuuuttt….have you ever tired to crack a quail egg? They’re tough as nails! I spent more time picking egg shell out of my pan…tiny shells fragments. 🤣. I think I’ll leave to to survival mode or gourmet dishes…

Did I mention Nursing is hard? I know our resident nurses know. You are my hero’s!

Now that spring is here we’re doing some Pacific NW MZ…

This looks like the Hoh Rain Forest! It's beautiful there! 😍

And... Nursing is not for sissies! Seems you're doing a fine job, H! 🫂💕🫂

Everything was good! They took her dressing off and cleaned the wound. She’s got a Frankenstein scar with staples now! They did some PT and the therapist said she did really well for where she’s at in the recovery. She was exhausted though. So I’m changing her dressing every two days now.

She’s getting around pretty well. Still has to use the walker but helped me in the kitchen once or twice and will walk gingerly a few steps. Still confined to downstairs in the reclining couch, but should be able to get back to going up and down in a few weeks.
It's all down to patient motivation and excellent nursing care! Seems you're both up to the task! Well done! 💕💕

@Lilianna23 I agree entirely. A strong woman will put her case and stand her ground until she is proven to be wrong or must move on. A stubborn woman just clings on regardless to her, and everyone else’s, detriment. That can be said of both sexes.

An imbalance of power long term is not good in any relationship. It simply builds resentment.

This said, my father cautioned my to avoid both strong drink and strong women. I asked if it would help me live longer? His answer “No but it will bloody well feel linked it!”
Can I offer you a drink, G? 😉🥂🤣

You are quite right. The couple must be well matched in temperament and be willing to give and take in the relationship.

Yep... beaver excretion...sounds so much better...
Whenever you see "natural" flavor. This is what they're referring to.... Or so I've been told.

I have a buddy who traps a lot of beavers (ok, I'm waiting for it). He collects the castor sacks. It's not as bad as you might think. (Ok, if you think it is, don't eat a hot dog then. Probably steer clear of haggis too...)

Bugs in strawberry must be the color additive?

Lili - lovely to see you
Means I may be up a tad late, but it's Saturday, so... 😄
Dreams send us messages. ✨💖
And if we're lucky our loved ones from the other side stop in for a visit. I love those dreams the most... b/c I miss those folks the most. 🫂
I use a space saver bag. The kind you can just roll the air out. The pillow packs fairly flat.
Genius!! I need to get a couple of those!
I'm a known over-packer 🥹
First vacation this year? My checked bag was 2 pounds over the limit. I opened the suitcase to see what I could jettison for the trip. Lifted a pack of brownies up - and it was exactly 2 pounds lighter. Made 2 young ladies at the bag check station very happy.
And I still had 3 more packs of brownies for my friends at the destination.
I'm not violently physical. You have no worries of me hurting you that way. However, I can be unnervingly quiet when a "conversation" is warranted! 🤣🤣
Quiet in an argument is counterintuitive but can be very effective.
I have a sander to use on my legs. I never shave them, I use an epilator then the sander on dry legs. I call it clear cutting. 🤣🤣🤣
I use an epilator all the time... I have an esthetician for waxing, too. I often see him before a trip for a more thorough attention to detail. Plus, some spots are easier for him to get than for me.
Never heard of using a sander on the legs though... heels, toenails, not legs. Huh!

Are you strong enough to understand your weaknesses? 🤔

It takes a very big person ( or mind) to understand when to let go and make the leap to a bigger understanding, basically, changing one’s viewpoint.

What a reflective weekend, more than I bargained for. Maybe it’s just the mood I am in?
I can't always see it in the moment but I'm always willing to listen.

I'm not a volatile person. When I'm angry, I'm more of a cold stealth bitch. I've been told it's scary. I just think it's more civilized than screaming and throwing things in anger.

It also sometimes takes me a while to process my feelings. I've learned to own them and not place blame on my partner for them. While I'm processing, I tend to withdraw. When I'm ready, a productive conversation can take place.

We are quite philosophical this weekend, aren't we?
