Speaking of…House of the Dragon new season should be dropping in a couple of months.

Morning all. Had fun at our oyster roast. Good catching up with some coworkers I haven’t seen since the last one. Wife goes in for her checkup today so, another milestone to recovery.

Have a great day! Santa Fe sunrise MZ:

How was the checkup?

Yeah she has gotten the shots. 1 eye is worse than the other. She only has peripheral vision... she wants to wear an eye patch .... it bothers her.... she can see to take care of the house etc.... her grandma was blind I suspect of the same thing because i remember when I was little that she would turn her head to " see a little bit"
That has to be hard for her. 🫂

One of my dad’s friends left his left arm on Iwo Jima. When the 50th anniversary of the battle was coming up, the VFW reached out to him to see if he’d be interested in going back for the commemoration. His quote…”I ain’t going back over there and shaking their hands. Those bastards tried to kill me!”
I wouldn't go, either!

So for the unwashed…here’s your BBQ primer…

NC BBQ - split into Eastern NC (vinegar based sauce w spices) and Western NC (Tomato/ketchup/molasses or sweet)
SC BBQ - mustard based sauce. Good but not my fav…

Both of these mainly piggy

Tennessee - Dry rub spice
KC - a mix of dry rub spice and sweet sauce

Mainly beef and Tennessee mostly ribs

TX - spicer sauces with a healthy mix of the rub and others. Brisket is king

BBQ is kind of like sex…even when it’s bad…it’s still pretty good! 😂
Thanks for the tutorial, H!

The old Woolworths on Main Street in Somerville, New Jersey was a great place. I have fond memories of it as a kid. it had one of those lunch counters, and that unstable Woolworths smell. (can’t describe it, but it smelled like an old school hardware store - not a bad smell at all)

But then it turned into this gigantic antique Emporium, which was also pretty great. It had a sign just like this in it!
My Village bought the old IGA and we are renovating it into office space and two stores and we are going to replace the front windows it's like a wall of windows with glass of course with a decorative wood trim and I told Jason that if we had the money I would like to name the building the Village Mercantile or General Store and have it like in gold with an old fashioned font. I think that would be so pretty

What was the diagnosis? 🫂🫂
I am wondering the same thing
What we know from B2 as of early this morning...
Update on my partner’s daughter, she is responding well to anti viral meds and could be released today. We are waiting on test to confirm the virus. Some speculation is a reaction to exposure to Picornaviridae, aka foot and mouth disease!
Hopefully she continues to respond to the antiviral and makes a full recovery quickly. 🫂

I love that. I like it when the repurpose and reuse old buildings.

Better than leveling them and building soulless new ones.

It is a lot if work and money.... we have a mayor's court and if people can't pay Their fines we do in kind so if you owe $150 we pay you $15 an hour and you work 10 hours for The Village. So if you have any really good skills we use you to do carpentry or whatever. When it comes time to paint people will be painting if you're an electrician we have you do electrical work if you're a plumber we have you fix a toilet. Whatever. These little villages have to be very creative

That’s a creative solution!

In case anyone wants to know, it's snowing again. Great big 1/2" - 3/4" flakes falling down!

Now the little bit of bare ground is turning white again...
Fine. Be that way. Keep it all for yourself. 😥
I'll just hunker down here a bit south (southwest???) of you and look at the uncovered ground that's had next to no snow cover this season (again).
Really dreading Wildfire Season with so little snow/rain 😣

It's the toggling between melting and thawing that's growing all sorts of allergens of which I'm currently displeased with.

Like, make up your damned mind already!
