There are reasonable arguments for scrapping the DOE. However, this will not fix anything of itself, because it ignores the fundamental problem. The USA lacks agreed objectives in education, a rational syllabus and regular comparable testing procedures. All of the top countries systems share a common foundation in early child care and education (aged 3-6) You do not need a National DOE to develop an agreed basic syllabus, just the threat of funding withholding if the States do not sort it out. Neither do you need a DOE to establish a regular standard testing system. The States could get an independent body to do this without the Feds being involved, Singapore, generally regarded as the best in the world went outside of their own country to establish a significant part of their testing system.
However, the small print reveals that Trump is going to stuff it up. Obviously there are no plans to improve or test the quality of education, the small print reveals that Trump intends to hang onto all the grant money (quel surprise!) It will be given to another department to manage, probably small business, and I leave it to you to imagine just how much of that money will get diverted to other projects more to the taste of the Trumpian Oligarchs. Trump his cabinet and Congress critturs simply have no interest or direct involvement in public education - But voters do.
Politically this will be a disaster; Parents both MAGA and non MAGA have a surprising interest in the outcomes and costs for their children and a propensity to blame the government for stuff ups.

The department of ED Is going back to the STATES meaning the government has no say anymore and can't say teach this or else you are not boing to teach this but you are gonna teach that! It means the kids will FINALLY get an education and wokeness bullshit will be out! No more kids running around identifying as animals! Bottom line INDOCRINATING OUR KIDS IS OVER! PERIOD! Kids will again learn ENGLISH,MATH, SOCIAL STUDIES, HISTORY. they will also learn to write! Fuck the government, they have zero say in what our kids are taught!
