I fucking love my county's public library system! It's top-notch and I'm so grateful.

Not sure what country you are in, but I love libraries. Ben Franklin was one of the two Founding Fathers I can love without complication (Lafayette was the other, and he was French), and public libraries in the US was one of his best ideas, first for a price (the rich covered the main costs that way) then open to everyone with a small fee for collateral on the return of the book.I fucking love my county's public library system! In our state, they stopped the late fees, but they have a set date where they assume the book is lost and charge you replacement. My county stopped charging late fees. I think it's ridiculous. Why tell me they're due on a certain date if I can keep them as long as I want with no incentive to return them?
Oh, potato pancakes...I came here to say Irish boxty is what I grew up calling a potato pancake. Now, I want some!

I think it's mostly so they can still give the next patron an idea of when the title is expected back. My local branch not only removed late fees, but also raised the checkout limit to something wild like 18 pieces of media at a time![]()
We're allowed to check out 30 at a time. I live in the biggest county in the US and, even though it's big, once we're out of the city 80 miles west of here, the towns are far flung. Most of our books are "ordered" and shared with other towns. It all works out.![]()

I love latkes (one thing I miss about living in NYC is the food), but boxtys are great too. (My main problem with making them is when we have mashed potatoes, there are rarely leftovers.)

Well they were just mentioned on this page! Maybe you skimmed past it and that one word stuck? They do sound deliciousI’m craving latkes! So random.
I had 3 ebooks out for about 1 day earlier this week. Had finished book 1 in the series and was considering rereading, and book 2 waiting list popped half a day later so I held onto the 1st in case I needed to refer back to any parts of it. Then a few days later, another wait listed book popped when I was a day away from finishing book 2. Having even more than 1 book at a time is unusual for me, unless I’m concurrently reading historical fiction and corresponding historical fact at the same time, which I often do.I was trying to imagine carrying 30 books home before I remembered
normaledit - most people drive.
I was even considering a wagon![]()
Most definitely pinchSo... do we still pinch on St. Patrick's if no green is worn? Cause that may have an effect on my outfit choice...
