Did you happen to play the Last of Us Pt 2?

I didn’t. I started playing the first one during lockdown and quickly noped out. I love single player games but my attention span for them…is virtually nonexistent these days

I liked the show way more than I thought I would. I’m excited for s2. I’m also not very spoiler averse, surprises aren’t what make a show good. But I know I’m in the minority in that opinion.

I'm really surprised that you think the show is better. I think the acting was better in the show, but in a game you get SO immersed. You're rooting so hard for Ellie/Joel because you are them

I found the pacing of the game-sequences to be off some how. I loved the story, but I really don't like survival/horror games so maybe it was just a bad match of a genre for me.

Also, that Bill and Frank episode is just

I LOVE ALEX GARLAND!!!!!!! Especially Ex Machina! Sunrise is underrated IMO as well.

Lol it's Sunshine. Whoops. But yes, sun is dying and only the Human Torch can save it. Or something like that. Now I need to get Hulu to go back fro Devs

yeah, maybe it’s because I read mad magazine and knew every movie in the 80’s before I saw it anyway. Whatever.

Alex Garland is one of our better filmmakers, though I think he got a little full of himself in Civil War. Sunshine is totally underated, and I love The Beach both the movie (which he didn’t direct) and the book. Tesseract….meh.

I haven’t seen Devs either. On the list!

Kirsten Dunst really got snubbed. She deserved a nod and I’d argue maybe the award. The movie itself is good, weakened a lot I think by a too pointed ending.

I liked Anora a lot and Mickey was fantastic. But it think if Trump handy won the studio would have promoted it harder and the old farts on the academy would have noticed it more.
