...and the things is, we don't even have to spend money. We ship a thousand old Bradleys from the desert to Ukraine and let them and the EU countries refurbish them. No cost to us except maybe the shipping. They're sitting out there in the desert. We do the same thing with 100 old F16's. Let the EU refurbish them. We have 400 old 155mm guns sittimg out there somewhere, send them too. Cluster munitions? Sure, its all end of life. Send it off. Saves us the cost of disposing of it.
And if they want our 155mm ammo for Ukraine, they can pay for it. No need to budget a cent in our part. Just give Ukraine the IFV's and the aircraft, sell them the ammo and let them do the rest. No boots on the ground. No American soldiers dead. No whining about missing billions (that went to the US defence industry anyhow). Ukraine is grateful. Europe is grateful. We are happy because they are grateful and we saved lots of money on disposal costs. Russia is fucked over completely. Win-win for everyone except Putin. It's so easy. It costs us, literally, nothing.
As it is, Biden fucked it up, and now Trump is fucking it up completely, and it's such a serious no-brainer.

Ukrainian drones devastate Russian forces in Donbas, soldiers report
Russian invasion forces are suffering heavy losses in Donbas, largely due to the high effectiveness of Ukrainian drones, according to fighters from Peaky Blinders, the 2nd Separate Unit of the Omega Special Purpose Center of Ukraine’s National Guard. On March 10, the unit published photos purportedly showing the bodies of Russian soldiers. "This is what the 'success' of the Russian army in Donbas really looks like. Every bush, every path, and every treeline is littered with the bodies of occupiers," the fighters wrote alongside the images.The unit detailed their tactics, explaining that as soon as a group of three to four Russian soldiers is spotted, drones begin hunting them down. On average, only one soldier makes it to the front line. "At least 10 to 12 such groups attempt to break through daily. Drones take out about 80% of those trying to reach the line of contact. Right now, we’re seeing peak efficiency in drone warfare," the unit reported.
They added that on March 9 alone, their group eliminated 19 Russian invaders. Commenting on the photos, Ukrainian soldiers noted that the sheer number of Russian casualties is the clearest reason why Moscow’s offensive has stalled. According to Ukrainian special forces, Russian troops are barely using armored vehicles anymore, even avoiding their usual UAZ “Bukhanka” vans and quad bikes, which they previously used to move small assault groups.
According to the ZSU, drones are now responsible for 85% of Russian casualties, both troops and vehicles.

And they have the production capacity to deliver.

Mean while back at kursk.... the Ukrainian army is in near complete collapse being destroyed by daisy cutters and ground troops whom are not taking any prisoners
Now it's believed that president Putin knew of the kursk invasion plans and actually manipulated it so effectively that baited little napoleon into this area all the while Zelensky was pissing men and material away on a "fool's errand"...

Some analysts believe it's looks to be the Russians can very well stage an offensive towards the capital, what no one is talking about is the 150,000 Russian troop reserve near the kursk area very possibility to be used in a push to take, the capital and reduce it to rubble similar to bakhmut......

Good grief, just read the news.
They DO tax their own businesses and citizens. They are the world's biggest wheat exporter and they export stuff like sunflower oil by the tanker ship.
Add in funding from the EU for their defense industry, and add in loans from EU countries and loans secured by frozen Russian assets or income from frozen Russian assets and you are talking substantial amounts.
That said, would you rather be in debt or dead? What you do not seems to be able to understand is that for Ukraine and Ukrainians, this war is existential. Literally, it is life or death. Putin intends to exterminate Ukraine and Ukrainians. Full stop. Genocide. The Final Solution. He's doing it in the occupied territories. People are being arrested and tortured and executed in basements for talking Ukrainian. Go figure why Ukraine fights. It's not hard. They've been there before. The Holodomor. Ukrainians know Russia and Russians.

He declared it, but as their Constitution dictates, Parliament voted to agree and has renewed the declaration multiple times since then. The people can object and request their representatives not renew it. They absolutely have a voice and the majority still support Zelensky.

I won't re-answer the first question. That's been answered any number of times. If you won't accept that Ukraine has a Consitution that specifically addresses this question, and that the Rada is in full agreement with both martial law and with not holding elections until after the war is over, then there's no point in even discussing. You have you Putin-blinkers on and you've swallowed the koolaid.
Ukraine on the verge of winning? No-one has said that. Every forecast I have read projects that it will take into 2026 for Ukraine to win. The last three years have essentially been Ukraine fightimg a defensive war while they build their military strength, mobilize equip and train more soldiers, and build up firepower which will enable them to go on the offensive seriously. The last year in particular, with Syrski taking over from Zaluzhyni, has seen a switch in tactics tpo a defensive war designed to cull the Russian hordes while withdrawing slowly where necessary - and this has been sucessful. Russia is projected to be able to mobilize 100k less men in 2025 than in 2024, their soviet-era stocks are running down, artillery barrels are in shorter and shorter supply and they cannot produce enough new ones, they're stripping barrels of old guns for use as replacements. No modern tanks. No modern IFV's left.
Ukrainian EW has made their gide-bombs ineffective. Half their artillery ammo comes from NORK-land and the NORKS can't keep that up forever. Ukrainian artillery is, shell for shell, at least 5 times more effective than Russian, and in most areas of the front Ukraine now has the artillery advantage - altho with Trump cutting off supplies, there will be less ammo available - but European and Ukrainian ammo production is stepping up, so this is not critical the way it was when Biden cut off ammo supplies for six months. The French Mirages means the US cutting F-16 support (Trump's a fucking murderous POS) is not the diastrous impact it might have been - lets hope Macron has more Mirage's in the pipeline. Now, drones. I wil not talk much about drones, I've already said lots about them, but a few key points.
This is now a drone war above everything. Ukraine has an edge over everyone in this. 1.5 million drone in 2024. 85% of all Russians taken out are taken out be drones. 10% of russian oil refining taken out over last few months by INTERMITTENT drobe attacks. At this point, the entire frontline has been essentially static for the last couple of years. Russia cannot make more than miniscule progress at the cost of 10's of thousands of casualties. 40-50k a month at this point and steadily increasing. Manpower on downward curve. Casualties on upward curve. Some areas of the front in the Donbas are starting to disintegrate as Russian manpower at the front is eliminated. Ukraine has developed drone-supported assault tactics which take out the Russians and gain limited objectives. And are repeating this. The Russian econmy is on a knife edge. So this is where we are now.
Now lets look at the year ahead. 400 Lynx IFV's to be delivered. Around the same of Fuchs. I think at least a couple of hundred CV90s. Patrias from Finland and Lithuanian production plants. Not to mention the hundreds of armored vehicles Ukraine is building. Ttalian tank destroyers. French tank destroyers and VAB IFV's. At least 250 new Bohdana 155's and in all probability more plus whatever guns they get from France, Czechia and Slovakia. The UK is manufacturing replacement artillery barrels. Probably more Mirages from France. IRIS SAM systems from Germany - there were 17 coming but it sounds like this has tripled. Ukraine is designing and building their own HIMARS analog. Likewise they are working on a Patriot analog. They now have there own rifles underway - Bren's. This will over time replace their existing rifles. 120mm mortars and ammo. You name it.
Now, add in 4.5 million drones, PLUS additional drones from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and whereever else, plus the thousands of cruise missiles they are currently starting to churn out. The Russian oil industry and manufacturing is going to be annihilated over the next year. Last nights attack on Moscow with 350 drones is just a taste of what's coming. Six months ago I said we would see waves of hundreds of drones attacking together, and we are there now. Next it'll be a thousand drone swarm every night. 4.5 million drones is 12,500 a day. Every day. Most of them will be for the front, but a significant % will be long range drones....
On some parts of the front, Ukrainian drone operators are competing with each other to kill the same Russian. They can't even move. 80% of the Russian soldiers are being taken out before they reach the frontlines and the ZSU is building a "drone line" that's planned to extend 40km into the Russian rear where anythuing that moves will be targeted.
So no, Ukraine is NOT on the verge of winning. The war has reached a turning point, and by the end of this year, things will be rather different. Think of drone swarms moving forward, cutting logistics, targeting anything visible, pinning front line soldiers down, wiping oit artillery and then drone-supported assault groups move forwards, eliminating any Russian holdouts whereever they are hiding underground. That's whats starting to happen now around places like Toretsk, and it's working.
To quote Churchill, "this is the turning of the tide" and THAT is what Trump is working desperately to stop. Because he wants Russia to win. It's every evident that he resists security guarantees because he KNOWS Russia will simply renew the attack after a pause allows Russia to build up reserves again. Ukraine converself dos not want a ceasefire on the ground for this very reason.
Personally, I think these bullshit negotiations of Trump's will go nowhere. Zelensky stood up to Putin for three years. He's npt going to rollover for a blowhard like Trump is proving to be, not when everything Trumps is doing points to an attempt to force Ukraine to capitulate (remember "Ukraine might not even exist" - that is NOT what an ally and supporter would say - that is what an outright enemy would say). No, Ukraine and the EU will now have to go on without the USA, and in fact, with the USA openly aligned with Russia.
Which maybe why we are seeing pvertures from China here. China is seeing an opportunity - and an alliance with the EU would be far more beneficial to China - and the collapse of Russia would mean China could grab Sibera. Nope, whatever way you look at this, Trump is fucking it up.

Ukraine’s 63rd Brigade Equipped with New BTR-4 Armored Vehicles
A batch of Ukrainian-designed and manufactured Bucephalus BTR-4 armored personnel carriers has been delivered to the 63rd Mechanized Brigade. The new vehicles will significantly strengthen the brigade’s units due to their high firepower and maneuverability. The photo archive of the 63rd Brigade’s social media shows that, in addition to T-72 tanks, the brigade previously had only Soviet MT-LB armored personnel carriers, BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, and M113s supplied as part of military aid.Thus, the 63rd Mechanized Brigade became at least the fifth formation of the Defense Forces to receive new Ukrainian combat vehicles since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022.
