I am in a similar location. 5 miles from the shore and close to a lake. We are not in a flood zone but water from the lake has come up within feet of the house. We had a bunch of trees blown over but that it is. There are more storms with global warmiing sorry to say.

Agree. Well the power keeping coming and going. I cut down 4 palms yesterday that had already split at the base, so hopefully, nothing hits the house. And now it's loud howling 118km/h (74mph) gusts of wind and driving winds. Another sleepless night I forsee
