The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Just under a year ago, our own @Wonderer67 started this wondererful thread and brought so many of us together here! Now, the thread is over 2K pages and over 50K posts! Thanks, W! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

It's just a bit after 2300 on a mild but cold PNW night. It's been clear the past few days so our nights are pretty cold, just above freezing. But! No snow for us! And no wind! And, there's a beautiful waxing quarter moon up tonight!

Enjoy your Friday, everyone! We can see the weekend from here! ๐Ÿ’โœจ๏ธ๐ŸŒ“

Thanks to Wonderer. This forum is amazingly vibrant and we do it with discussions about our everyday lives.

A hundred years ago, before the invention of cell phones, I forgot to set my clock for the time change. I rocked up to work an hour early for my night shift. ๐Ÿ™„ Since I was there already and the place was a zoo, I was put to work immediately!

I had a guy once who was late for work because he forgot to jump his bedroom clock forward and overslept by New Time. I have never understood that. Walk your lazy ass around the house and reset ever fawkin' clock in the house. It a twice-a-year ritual.

Good morning prolific patrons of the 'elderly eatery', as we enter the third millennium of (mostly) pertinent posts. It makes me feel like I too should post something useful for once, but I can't think of anything so, never mind. It's the thought that counts! ;)
What you posted was about as useful as many of the post. Who says the post have to be useful?

For anyone wondering how to see this, it's available on Amazon Prime Video.
Itโ€™s a great movie if you like Manchester England. Punk music from Manchester. Post punk music from Manchester. Drug abuse from Manchester.

Besides that itโ€™s brilliantly told and filmed brilliantly!!! Great story of the underground Manchester scene in the 70s and 80s!

It would be great if someone did a version of 90s Brit pop and Shoegaze bands for Manchester as a part twoโ€ฆ

Love the moon! (Literally and figuratively.)

2300 on a mild but cold night
You explained it, but it is still rolling around in my head. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Your posts bring us word joy! Totally useful!!

I understand, but the body adapts to a warm climate. I laughted at my daughter. She lived here for years when I was still living up in PA. She would say how cold it was when she came up to visit. Now I understand. There was a good wind chill.
Funny how quickly our bodies acclimate to both warm and cold.

During our deep freeze this winter, it wasnโ€™t all that bad (unless the wind was blowing). Then when it warmed up to above 30, it felt warm.
