The weather gets...interesting where I live. Tuesday it was really windy and spat snow on and off. And I mean windy enough to rock my mobile home. Yesterday it was sunny and warm enough to walk around in short sleeves. And today, no wind and inches of snow falling since mid-morning. I past three accidents on my way to work, and drove home at less than half the posted speed limit. I'm happy to be home safe. Time for bed.

Okay, caught up. Long damned day - pushing 12 hours. I think we have a handle on it. There was wind and rain and windy-rain, weasels, an unhappy resident, a couple of wheels, a grumpy maintenance guy, a blown fuse in a new a/c unit, and all the kinds of stuff that Wat does daily when he does this stuff.


Off to hit the rack.

Did someone say HumpDay? Enjoy for all you at work…It’ll be the weekend before ya know it! Day one of Staycation for me. All focused on SWhoMBO…she’s getting a Bionic knee! . Funny story. When she was getting her consult, the doc was like, “you wont be kneeling down in the garden weeding anymore”….she thought…”that’s not the issue!” . She can be funny when she wants…

We get that storm that delayed me getting home from Dallas yesterday. All’s well that ends well…the road is in the rear view for a bit. Spring is springing…

Ha! I had to reveal to Europe a few years ago the week the clocks changed there. So instead of five and six hours ahead it was 4 and five. But then I traveled from London to Germany the next week when the is clocks changed back.

It was a shitshow, time wise!

Basic addition and subtraction was all off for those two weeks.

That's when you hope your phone knows!

A hundred years ago, before the invention of cell phones, I forgot to set my clock for the time change. I rocked up to work an hour early for my night shift. Since I was there already and the place was a zoo, I was put to work immediately!

Continental Europe operates on the 24 hour clock. I was in Paris once and overheard a group of Americans, on the adjacent table, discussing how to work out what time it was back home.

#1: You add 5 hours
#2: No, you subtract 7
#3: Don't you multiply the time here by three, add two then take away the number you started with?
#4: Why can't these goddamn people just use proper time?

Vive la difference

The military and many hospitals also use the 24 hour clock.
