Since reading https://www.literotica.com/s/one-in-ten by FinalStand I have been itching to read stories with similar premise. The ones I found almost always go full femdom but that ruins the tension/story for me. The idea of men trying to survive and retain their masculinity in a woman's world is hot

If I were to write a story like this, I would probably do something like this:

10 years ago a viscious virus ran across the earth, it only targetted men, however it was extremely deadly. A cure was eventually found, however 99% of the men's population was wiped out. Basically every man died by the virus, with exception of men in remote villages where the virus didn't reach. All the remaining men are now immunitized against the virus but in all the large cities hardly any men remain and the men from the remote villages weren't eager to move to the large city's.

Michael just turned 18, he grew up on a farm, far away from civilization. On his 18th birthday, the nearest large city send him a proposal. They asked him to move to the city, in return they would give him housing and essentially everything he would need/want in life. Unlike most people from the country, he accepted this proposal.

Upon his arrival the woman in charge informs him, that the women in the city are desperate for children. The organization she is a part of was formed to protect men from women and all the women working there were sterilized for that reason. He gets assigned 2 bodyguards who are sterile and will protect him at all cost, as well as his own impressive physique from working the farm every day, he should be safe. He is allowed to Marry as many women as he wants, but she urges him to not be too greedy, some men have gotten Erectile disfunction or even died from exhaustion as they overexerted themselves with too many women.

The story would be him getting hit on constantly, looking for the women he wants to take into his harem. Maybe he explores with his sterile bodyguards, even though they can't have children and aren't desperate they still can enjoy sex. Maybe I would even throw a monthly event in there, where he can have sex for an entire evening impregnating as many women as he wants and those women are all prepared to raise the child on their own without any commitment from him.

This is what I would do with it. I already have too many ideas to write atm though and not enough time to write them all, so maybe this will inspire someone else to write something like this? (Or have a crack at it yourself!)

It’s an idea I always find more interesting for the world building than the sex but let me see if I can come up with something:

1. Space colony. The ship lands, a rudimentary town is built and then the unfreezing begins.

A. The colonists knew there would be risks involved so when some people don’t come out of cryo alive, they are saddened but aren’t shocked. However they were not expecting it to be mostly men who died in transport. Now they have a smaller than expected male population.

B. There were supposed to be three ships: one to construct the colony but be mostly unmanned, one which had a majority of women and children and another which had mostly men. The ship with the men went off course and will not arrive for 50-100 years. So the only men are the few aboard the construction ship and the majority women ship, as well as some older teens who will be turning 18 soon.

I think this setting would allow a more equal society: the men aboard the construction ship are needed for setting up the colony and the women aboard it are their comrades so they won’t tolerate being turned into walking sperm banks for the white collar colonists and you could have the ships’ AI running security so while it does recognize a crisis is occurring, it won’t allow any nonconsensual pairings to happen.

It still does lead to lots of sex. While a lot of the women are distressed if they had male loved ones on the other ships, they (or at least the het ones) do decide to accept the new situation (and again, non noncon: if they want kids but don’t want to have sex, a sperm bank could be set up).

When a boy turns 18, he does find himself not wanting for partners, meanwhile the older men on the construction ship once assured they won’t be taken advantage of, enjoy a life of putting in hard work during the day and enjoying a bevy of women by night. They even become father figures to a lot of the colonists, especially the young men, so by the time the ship carrying all the other men arrives, the society they awaken to is one that promotes equality and working hard for the whole and the men from the ship will find themselves as unwelcome partners if they try to fight against it.


2. I know you didn’t want a female dominated society but I could see a pulp adventure style story.

Alternate fantasy/steam or diesel punk setting, for an unknown reason the number of males born each year dwindles. Over time the men are rounded up “for their safety” by various powerful groups and maternity wards and midwives are concouraged to snitch on the birth of any males.

Our lead is a man who works to upset the order and frees captured men at night while dressing in drag during the day. He also finds places and cultures where the men have been taken and, after freeing their men makes sure to leave a few sons behind as for whatever reason he only shoots seed with y-chromosome.

3. Fantasy again: a group of criminals made up of human men, goblins, and orcs all find their guards dead one day and break out of prison. Turns out the cells they were in somehow gave them protection from a male killing plague or curse. Now the once hated group finds themselves very popular as they roam a world where their tackle and bits make them the most wanted for other reasons.
(To avoid the femdom scenario, you could have either a god grant them a symbol of protection (attack them and suffer the gods wrath) or it could be revealed only certain places got hit so they are still valued in say, rural areas but urban ones and especially castles are desperate for them.

It's a hot idea but my logical mind says this young man would be kept under lock and key and "milked" so ovulating women can be inseminated. The leaders would not allow the survival of the species to be left up to something as random as intercourse.

But perhaps a few of the upper eshalon arrange for more personal services.

Maybe room in the transgender genre, that a semen producer slipped through the cracks, no pun intended.

Well, I've read an article that I don't know how credible it is but would be good for a story line like this. The article talked about how the y chromosome was unstable and how it's already showing signs of going away or something. Not sure it was a while ago and I'm again not sure how credible it is.

Anyways! My thought is that you could set the story in the future where the y chromosome has destabilized to the point that fewer boys are being born. Not so little that all boys get locked up for their protection/sperm bank usage, but enough to make the world far more female dominant. It wouldn't even necessarily change society very much just polygamy laws. So say instead of roughly 1/2 of births being male it'd be something around 1/3-1/6.

Of course you would have factions of society trying to make the world matriarchal, but there would be at least as many woman trying for a more equal society. And then the men would likely be split between trying to keep the world patriarchal, and genders are equal.

It'd even be interesting to write the story from the viewpoint of the first college kids who grew up with this new gender ratio.

I like @Nightscream89 's idea of the virus. Only I would write it so that the few remaining men are in great demand, and are treated like royalty. The government sets them up in palatial apartments with servants to wait on them hand and foot, and every day they get their pick of women to sleep with (from a list of currently fertile candidates). Nobody would be sterilized, and everyone is encouraged to get as pregnant as possible, as often as possible. They are paid a bounty for every male child. You could focus on one guy, and each chapter is another night with another woman.

This would be a great gig for the few remaining men. For a little while. It won't be long until the new generation of male babies reach Lit-legal age, and then everything is back to normal.
