Nothing to do with Spike, he’s awesome. He was in several eps of Angel, and Willow might’ve been in like…1 or 2? But they were both more on Buffy. My icks are more centered on Cordelia and another character though.

As much as I love the glitz and glam of the Oscars and appreciate that it celebrates mostly theatrical releases…in a post-COVID world, I can’t help but wish part of the cutoff requirement was that the movies be streaming for at least…a month(?) before the awards ceremony, so the public has more opportunity to watch, and get more invested in the outcome

You’re not wrong. I haven’t been to a movie theater in months, and before COVID that was a near weekly thing. For me, I would just rather stream the movies at home except for a select few. The movie selection since the first of Dec in the theaters has been horrid. What’s up with all the horror movies?

Oof, Cordelia. Charisma Carpenter was a goddess. I remember maybe just a few months after my wife and I got divorced. The Playboy issue with Charisma came out, I stumbled onto it and bought one. Was absolutely blown away. My ex always thought she was gorgeous too. So I took it over to the house when I was picking my boys up, and and I showed her the cover with Charisma. She was like no way! I said yes way, and she's totally naked in it! We tore into it together and she just couldn't get over it. Said I had to leave it with her and go get myself another one.

I honestly think people are watching more movies than ever, but the way we watch movies has changed. Viewership and engagement of Oscars and other awards shows has been trending down in recent years, and there are always those people who are compelled to go on about how much they don’t care about them. I feel like that could change if the nominated films were more accessible

I honestly think people are watching more movies than ever, but the way we watch movies has changed.

Oh, for sure. I still watch several movies a week. It’s just that thanks to streaming, I get to watch a lot of indie and foreign films that I wouldn’t have seen before. I have been loving both far more than the recent mainstream movies.

I travel a lot now, and I have been in some places that have restored old small, single screen theaters and they often show indie films there. I love that so much. That was actually the last theater I have been to.
