Trump fucks up again. Ukraine negotiation goes sideways

The leaders of Europe are scrambling to figure out their next move.
you need to get outside your news bubble. If anything, this just took the "leader of the free world" title from the US. All those years and tax dollars spent to be the #1 voice in world affairs. evaporated in a childish tantrum......*chuckles*

The US might be the worlds leading superpower, but it's no longer the leading world influencer.

In the video of the meeting, Trump was very upset that he and Putin were accused of trying to manipulate a US election. Trump has never been upset at all about Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

That’s all you need to know about our piece of shit president.

LOL I love how much the warmongers are upset about WW3 getting canceled.

vance got all bitchy after President Zelenskyy pointed out that

a: putin had broken multiple signed 'deals' since 2014, listing during the presidencies of Obama, trump, Biden and trump again and
b: not one of those president shad been able to prevent putin from breaking those deals

trump declared that putin wouldn't break a deal trump had brokered because he knows he's strong... but why would putin want to break a deal that begins and ends with trump offering putin everything he damned well wants while demanding Ukraine make concessions?

No matter what, Trump cannot force Ukraine to make peace. If this war drags out much longer Russia's economy will implode. The rest of Europe knows this, and will throw in the kitchen sink now to help that happen.

BabyBoomer50s being racist:

[Elizabeth Holms riots] Geez, the case hasn’t even gone to the jury and the rioters in CA are already looting the high end fashion stores. If the verdict goes the wrong way the streets of Walnut Creek, San Francisco, and LA could be filled with blondes in black turtlenecks. Not even going to guess how this would all go down if she were black.

Exactly. And face the choice between investing more to defend it’s own turf or continuing to prioritize social spending.
And by doing so, the US loses all that hard fought influence. I'm sure Germany will miss the economics of the US bases, but that is a short term pain. The US is returning to the isolationism that existed before it became "great".

100 years ago it was the United Kingdom at the top.....guess the US's time is over. Here comes China.

If the US washes its hands of the whole thing, what will Europe and Canada do to provide security for Ukraine?

Will Canada and Europe step up?

Same as what we have been doing, supplying arms, equipment, humanitarian aid. You may not like to hear it, but the US is not the #1 supplier of aid to Ukraine.
How much and how long will they keep doing that? Been three years. Victory is obviously not imminent by any stretch.

Fox News...FOX FUCKING NEWS...is breaking the story of what the fuck just happened.

Trump evidently promised for the past three weeks that language committing the USA to aid the Ukraine should Russia invade again would be in the minerals sale agreement.

Zelenskyy stated repeatedly "I am NOT signing ANYTHING that does not contain an iron-clad agreement. We trusted Russia once when we traded our nuclear missiles for "Russian peace".

The Trump team deviated from diplomatic protocol and did not provide a "final version" of the deal 24 hours in advance. Zelenskyy got the finalized contract an hour before the meeting. As Zelenskyy feared, Trump had reneged and there was NO security guarantee from the USA.

Trump gambled that Zelenskyy would not want to 'look weak' by refusing to sign the last-minute altered contract before all the cameras. Zelenskyy notified Trump's staff he would NOT sign the agreement as written, and asked if he still wanted to have a meeting in front of the cameras.

Trump and Vance were BOTH pissed off and took out their anger, in public, on Zelenskyy.

The world press has been unanimous and vicious against both Trump and Vance tonight...saying they both were 'attempting to 'look tough''. And failing. ouch.

Trump has been spinning excuses on Truth Social for the past two hours.
Zelenskyy is live on Fox News Bret Baier program (!!!). Fox reporters are looking bewildered.

Russia's economy can't hold up much more. Obviously Ukraine on it's own can't beat Russia in a war of attrition. But in a war of finance, of course they can. Interest rates in Russia are at 21%. Inflation is at 24%. They have burned through their reserves of international currency. You're a pretty dumb guy, but I think even you can read that economic picture.
