For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

Now THIS is more like...

An agreement between Kyiv and Washington regarding Ukraine's critical minerals and natural resources will grant Ukraine "military equipment and the right to fight on," U.S. President Donald Trump said on Feb. 25. President Volodymyr Zelensky's office confirmed on Feb. 25 that the U.S. and Ukraine had reached an agreement regarding Ukraine's critical minerals after an intense period of negotiations. Speaking to reporters from the Oval Office of the White House, Trump said that the agreement gave Ukraine billions of dollars in aid and "lots of equipment." It was unclear if he was referring to future or past military aid packages from the U.S.

The devil's in the details, but if it includes more military equipment........that's all Ukraine needs to win this.

He's pretty much blamed Zelensky for not rolling over and playing dead for Putin. Which is a pretty disgusting attitude and view to express.

I agree with much of what Trump is doing domestically, and I am not quite a single issue voter - but I never imagined Trump would take this approach to Ukraine. It really bugs me that he has and if he goes down this path, I sure won't be voting for Vance in 2028. Even with this, I'm not sure if I'd have changed my vote in the last election. There's so much that needs to be fixed, and Trump taking a wrecking ball to everything is going to fix a lot of things - but taking a wrecking ball to foreign policy and Ukraine is just stupid. Short sighted, and given Russia's intentions towards Ukraine, just plan evil. It makes Trump an accessory to intended genocide, and that's beyond the pale.

And for anyone that wants me to say it again, I was wrong about what Trump would do regarding Ukraine. I thought he was smarter than this and would see what the best interests of the USA are. Seems I was wrong. Mea culpa.
2028....?????????

You could ties his hands in 2026, but will you? No you'll whine about Ukraine but cheer on the rest. You've said as much.

Your apologies worthless.

For being invaded, you owe us your shit. 👍

Three Years After Invading Ukraine, Russia’s Army Is A Mess

Russia’s astronomical losses in the conflict so far have wiped out its most skilled units, forcing it to rely on mass conscription for further advances. Before the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian military was undergoing a modernization effort. The Kremlin was putting particular emphasis on building a military force that would be able to conduct effective combined arms operations—fusing ground, air, long-range fires, electronic warfare, and special operations into one goal. However, the “special military operation” in Ukraine has radically altered those plans. Today, the Russian military is now reliant on mass over quality to prosecute operations against Ukraine. The reason for this change is simple: Russia’s astronomical losses in the conflict so far have wiped out its most skilled units, forcing it to rely on mass conscription for further advances....

It's a crappy deal and a crappy attitude from Trump, but military equipment and "the right to fight on" rather than an imposed ceasefire is what Ukraine needs from the USA. Biden locked in ammo for 2025 and Rheinmetall is really stepping up - and the EU as a whole seems to have been spurred into REALLY doing something. This could make a real diference if Ukraine gets enough additional equipment from us out of this, and it's not just noise. One can hope.

🙄

Chloe “Chicongo” Tzang "thinks" decent, intelligent individuals are only holding MAGAts to account for being WRONG about President Musk (and DonOld) in regards to Ukraine.

WRONG…AGAIN.

If Chloe “Chicongo” Tzang was WRONG about President Musk (and DonOld) in regards to Ukraine, then what else was Chloe “Chicongo” Tzang WRONG about???

So what’s the speculation of how Putin might take this?

Is he going to fade back and lick his wounds? Is he going to nuke us? Is Trump going to give him something as a ‘deal’ that Putin will have no interest in keeping?

At this point, he wants anything he can sell domestically as a victory. He wants to save face.

Not preparations to invade Russia.
No, it was the Ukrainians oppression and killing of 14,000 Russian-speaking people in the Donbas for whatever reason, Putin warned the oppression would not be tolerated. One thing led to another and boom, the invasion.

Not saying something has now become siding with Putin. Biden, NATO and the EU all fucked up but ya don't see the left crying in their beer over that.
There is nothing Trump can do that will not be denigrated by the now marginalized left.

Bullshit. Putin invaded Ukraine

Putin kidnapped Ukranian children.
Putin is the aggressor.

Common ground is not capitulation.

Russia invaded Ukraine. That's a fact.

Ukraine did not start the war. That is a fact.

Explain away that 47 is throwing Ukraine under the bus all you want. It's what he is doing very clearly.

Putin is a dictator. That is a fact.
Zelensky is not a dictator. That is a fact.

Strength is not capitulation. Leverage does not start by giving them everything.

Our ally is Ukraine. That is a fact.
Our adversary is Russia. That is a fact.
Tell us why?

You don’t have to speak for the president. He spoke for himself, yet you still seem willing to look the other way.

No, you are failing to understand what is really happening versus what the leftwing echo chamber is saying. You have no idea what is being said in those negotiations.

Because Putin wants to make Russia a world power of the first rank once again, and the international community cannot afford to allow that.

Trump and Rubio have both openly said what they mean. Capitulation to Russia.
Plain and simple.

Because Putin wants to make Russia a world power of the first rank once again, and the international community cannot afford to allow that.
This is the only reason any of this is happening. If Russia had a president reasonable enough to accept his country's reduced status, there would be no war. Russia has no reason to fear a situation in which all the countries on its western border are NATO members.

I am repeating what the administration has said publicly.

The only problem I have is a complete public dismissal of the Ukranian people in favor of Russian capitulation. Whether you believe there is a larger "plan" that results in our ally, Ukraine, having any demands met or not isn't my issue.
The Ukrainian people haven't spoken on the subject. Zelensky hasn't allowed an election since his term expired on May 20, 2024. He is a dictator at this point with poor poll numbers.
