For a "tech" person, Elon does seem to be remarkably techno-ignorant. Reminds me of the story about a politician from Alabama or Arkansas complaining that a maths teacher at some school in his state was teaching "integration"!!

Yes, do a keyword search on the word "integration" to get rid of all those troublesome freedom-riders . . .
 
The author Noah Smith clings to the outdated notion that IQ correlates with SAT score, which was marginally accurate until the early 1990s when the SAT began evolving into what it is today (i.e. no longer a substitute test for IQ).

You have SAT study guides available at Barnes and Noble that will increase your SAT up to 200 points.....is there a corresponding increase in IQ level then?

I seriously doubt that.

Seth Abrahamson wrote the definitive biography on Musk's pre-empire days, he estimates Musk's IQ at 100 to 110, which seems about right to me. Musk has a moderate case of Aspberger's and those sort of folks think differently (see also, Arpy, His).

I don't know what Musk's IQ is but the first paragraph seem to rebut the estimate you made:

"This statement is wrong, of course. According to biographer Walter Isaacson, Elon got a 1400 on the SAT in the late 1980s, on his second try. SAT scores and IQ are highly correlated, and according to all the sources I can find, an SAT of 1400 at that time would have roughly corresponded to an IQ of in the mid-130s. Elon also has a bachelor’s degree in physics and was accepted to a materials science PhD program in the 90s. He is a man of well above average intellect."

Smith's assessment is supplemented by Musk's evidentiary achievements. Are you discounting those in your assessment?

Feel free to consider Musk a genius. A "stable genius" even. You obviously idolize the man

I feel Musk has slightly above average intelligence.

BTW the "red flag" is that Musk took the SAT a SECOND time in the 1980s. This was the dawn of the "SAT Coaching" era and the only folks who took them were generally lived in the northeastern United States and had tanked the SAT the first time.

By way of comparison
  • Paul Allen, cofounder of Microsoft, got a perfect 1600.
  • Bill Gates, cofounder of Microsoft, got a 1590 (rounded up to 1600 by his PR staff in 2015)
  • Jeff Bezos got a 1590 (and reportedly all "A"s in high school, college and grad school).
  • Bill O'Reilly claims to have gotten a 1585 :rolleyes:
  • Rush Limbaugh claims to have gotten a 1580 :rolleyes:
  • George W. Bush got a 1206
  • Bill Clinton got a 1032
  • Howard Stern got an 870
Musk got into Penn on the strength of his second SAT attempt, and the median entry score when he entered was 1310, so presumably he hadn't made that number on his first try.

That could be nothing more than the result of an extremely expensive prep course. Besides, has anyone actually suggested Musk was stupid? Not that I recall. Dishonest and breathtakingly selfish, yes, but that's hardly the same thing.

On the other hand, at least he didn't pay someone else to take the SAT for him, like Trump did.

The Trump administration will be remembered for the sheer number of fuckups it committed in February 2025.

Arguably the biggest fuckup of all occurred at the CIA. A chain of errors have absolutely crippled the CIA for at least the next five years.

Late 2019, the CIA realized it was woefully short of agents in two areas: cybersecurity and fluent Mandarin Chinese speakers. They went to Congress and asked for funding specifically to hire quite a number of new agents in these areas. Recognizing the the potential threat from China, BOTH house of Congress approved the additional hires by a large bipartisan margin.

Important note: because the CIA deals with extremely sensitive national security information, the probationary period for CIA agents is the longest in the federal government....four YEARS.

So the CIA goes out and hires the best and the brightest. A bit tricky hiring native Mandarin Chinese speakers who can pass the CIA's exhaustive background check, but they pull it off.

Trump's Project 2025 team begins making plan to sabotage the Federal government. THEY recognize the potential Chinese threat against the US Government that they plan to weaken, so they EXPLICITLY EXEMPT the CIA from any and all downsizing.

Then Trump wins, and it's his turn to fuck things up. He installs former Texas Congressman John Ratcliffe as CIA director. Ratcliffe is an Omega-class Trump suck-up.

Although the CIA is exempt from downsizing, Ratcliffe wants to prove to the Trump administration what a good soldier he is so he forwards the names of all "probationary hires" at the CIA to DOGE's team of "Musk Rats". Ratcliffe is allegedly "unaware" that he has axed just about every single new hire at the CIA for the past four YEARS.

So basically the CIA is now back where they were in 2020, with no in-house expertise in cybersecurity or Mandarin Chinese speakers.

Ratcliffe tries to spin this the best he can, but then it is revealed that he sent the names of the agents in a mother fucking unencrypted email from a Cia.gov mail account to DOGE's public mail server.

Anyone who knows anything at all about China realizes they possess and use the technology to intercept/view non-encrypted emails from certain government domain accounts....it is presumed that cia.gov is one of those domains.

Ratcliffe then attempted to say that he "encrypted" the names of the probationary agents himself, because he only provided their last names and first initials (might fine "encryption", no?). seemingly unaware of how you can match names to social media, linked in, and credit databases.

So not only is the CIA weakened, but those probationary agents are radioactive now, their covers are all blown and their careers in intelligence are vaporized.

Just wait until they tear apart NASA the biggest money laundering agency in the country! NASA has a lot in common with the dope,err pope! They are taking their final breaths! Getter done boys! And get rid of every last employee! The biggest waste of money ever!
