Love the Rower.ive got a concept 2...i dont use it enough, but i love it.
Rowing is a great, adjustable impact, cardio exercise that can work a lot of different muscle groups. Especially upper-body.@MrMakersMark I’m super glad to have read these posts today. I’m a former runner with early onset arthritis (bad knees, ugh). I’ve been walking and swimming, but hadn’t thought about rowing. I need to look into this! I wonder if my Y has a rowing machine…
Walking is great, I just want to get my heart rate higher and do something harder. I LOVE swimming, but it’s such a disruptor, especially in the winter. I literally feel your pain with the knees. My right one gets air built up and hurts like heck until it pops. If you like walking and have a route with some hills, walk the hills harder and recover on the flats. You can carry a light day pack and add some weight and/or carry some light (like 3lb) dumbbells and do arm and shoulder exercises as you walk.
