For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

Ukraine unveils $ 4,000 Trembita missile that can reach Moscow

Built for both strikes and deception, the Trembita light cruise missile is cheap, easy to produce, and requires no foreign funding. It has a 40kg warhead, and Ukraine plans to produce up to 2,000 units per month, with manufacturing spread across hundreds of small contractors to prevent Russian airstrikes from disrupting production. Unlike other stealth weapons, Trembita is designed to be seen. The decoy version deliberately attracts enemy radars, forcing Russian air defenses to waste expensive interceptors. The combat version is equipped with high-precision electronics for targeted strikes. Each launcher fires eight missiles per volley, with a standard barrage of 24 missiles mixing real and decoy targets.

Imagine 500 of these all targeting one factory.....

U.S. Doubles Down on Demand That Ukraine Sign Minerals Deal

The Trump administration is stepping up its push for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to hand mineral rights worth hundreds of billions of dollars to the U.S., after Zelensky’s initial rejection of the demand fueled President Trump’s escalating broadsides against Ukraine’s leader.

The White House called Zelensky’s refusal to sign a deal it proposed and his criticism of Trump unacceptable, a day after Zelensky said Trump is living in a “disinformation” bubble and Trump countered by calling Zelensky a dictator.

“They need to tone it down and take a hard look and sign that deal,” Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz said Thursday of Ukraine’s leadership on Fox News.

Zelensky has said he is open to a deal, but that it needs more work.

Zelensky was the one who initially proposed the mineral deal when he met with 47 before the election.

🙄

Will Chloe “Chicongo” Tzang just ADMIT they were WRONG and APOLOGIZE to the decent, intelligent individuals who warned them about the clear and present danger President Musk (and DonOld) posed to the United States and the free world???

I suspect it's more Trump listening to Tucker Carlson, who for some reason has been vociferously pro-Putin for a long time. Add in that for some reasom Trump has a bitch over Ukraine because of Biden.....

One hopes cooler heads prevail, but if they don't, well, Trump will lose this fight. The EU is all in on side with Ukraine now and when they do get their asses into gear, they CAN move.
You still don't get it. Trump does not want Ukraine to win this war. He is on Putin's side. He always was.

Todayis the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred Day in Ukraine.

11 years ago, Ukrainians took to Maidan to defend freedom, dignity, and Ukraine’s European future. They rose against injustice and changed the course of history. The Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred were the first victims of russian aggression. They fought against the same evil that later launched a full-scale war against the entire Ukrainian nation. Ukraine remembers each and every one of the Heroes who gave their life for Ukraine.

Rhubarb rhubarb. Walsh is a pro-Russian conspiracy troll. The Russian Army INVADED Ukraine and mass murdered civilians in Bucha, Mariupol, Kherson and every other area they occupied. They came prepared for genocide, complete with mobile cematoriums and lists of people to be killed.

Zelensky has led a very capable defense, and the Zbroyne Syly Ukrayiny has gone from strength to strength, becoming better and better at killing Russian soldiers invading their country. They will continue to do so and are on the verge of pushing the Russians back - which is why Putin is now desperate to have Trump impose a ceasefire - to allow them to rebuild and resume their offensive. Calling Zelensky a mass murderer is delusional at best, and abetting murderous genocidal thugs at worse.

The United States appears to be in violation of the Budapest Memorandum which disarmed Ukraine of nuclear weapons in exchange for security guarantees.
The agreement signed by the US in 1994 also specifically prohibits economic coercion against Ukraine.

Russia signed that too. With the US out, we enter a fresh new Nuclear weapons race. I sincerely hope Canada is now on that path. Given our access to the raw materials. Plus the current weapons in our military stockpile. We should be able to produce deliverable small yield weapons in under six months.

Larger yields will take longer, but we don't need a few large ones, when a couple dozen small ones is enough to ignite North America.

The vast majority of US military aid to Ukraine was in fact spent inside the USA to replace vastly overpriced by the Biden Adm. National Guard & Air Guard surplus weapons. Spending aid money buying Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) to replace old NG surplus Humvees for example. The base cost of a JLTV is $250,000, excluding armor and kitting out. An old military surplus Humvee costs between 30 and 50k depending on condition. This applies across just abhout everything we sent to Ukraine. We sent them old end of life Strykers and Bradleys (a few hundred, not nearly enough) and end of life ammo that would actually have cost us to dispose of it - so Ukrane was saving us money.

Ukraine is now the victim of the Biden Administration's accounting practices. The billions in aid that Trump is blathering on about is non-existent. In reality, we shipped over what was budgeted as about $67 billion of equipment. In reality, it was probably worth 25% of that at best. The remainder was us buying brand new equipment to replace the old junk we sent to Ukraine.

This was just one of the aid grifts that @JakeSullivan46 and the Biden NSC crew played to pretend they were helping Ukraine while not offending Russia & buying new US Defense equipment for the US military while saying the money was budgeted for Ukraine. It's sad to watch Trump and Vance buying into this, as well as a lot of other Russian talking points. Trump will look an even bigger Fool than PM Neville Chamberlain was when, not if, Putin does his Hitlerite betrayal. That makes Pres. Trump's Ukraine policy an unforced error which will cost the USA allies in the coming confrontation with China, not least of which will be Ukraine, who could have been, alomg with Poland, out strongest allies in Europe.

On top of that, I don't see it this coming to any conclusion. Whatever Trump says, Ukrainian and Russian negotiating positions are way too far apart. Cave in too much to the demands of one, and you are turned down by the other. Zelensky cannot surrender what his people won't let him surrender, and the ZSU will keep on fighting. They fought the Russians to a standstill in 2022 with almost nothing. They're in way better shape now, and the Russians are in way worse shape.

Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it....and Trump is tarnishing what could have been a great legacy.

RFK explains the truth about what happened in Ukraine:

Obviously the guy who drops bear carcasses in Central Park and complains of brain worms is a good source of discussion on the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The guy who is going to spend millions of dollars studying to find out whether vaccines cause autism.

This is obvious to anyone watching the attrition exchange rates over the course of the war.

Ukraine is bleeding out the Russian war machine.

Donkeys, mules and horses replacing Russian trucks is the "Lanchester square collapse" in progress for Russian motor transport. Russian logistics is slowly collapsing and the now spreading use of donkeys to move supplies up towards the front is more evidence of the regression of the Russian military. Another is that Russian troop numbers in Ukraine are declining. One look at the graph below tells you things are not sustainable for Russia.

Russia has lost nearly 900,000 troops, over 70% of its 70 years of stockpiled military gear, and half of the original area of Ukraine they initially occupied. They are also quickly losing whatever is left of their economy.

Another example: a Russian tank storage base without tanks. According to latest satellite imagery, tanks here today stand at 0, down from 324 pre war.
BMPs and other AFVs stand today at 27, down from 399 pre war.

Putin is praying for Trump and Musk to save him.

White House press secretary suggests Russia-Ukraine conflict could end ‘this week’

by Ashleigh Fields - 02/22/25 6:33 PM ET

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Saturday the president is confident in his ability to strike a deal with Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine, suggesting an end to the three-year-long war could come as early as this week.

“The president, his team are very much focused on continuing negotiations with both sides of this war to end the conflict and the president is very confident we can get it done this week,” Leavitt told reporters on the South Lawn after returning from the Conservative Political Action Conference.

The comments come as President Trump suggested Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “has no cards” and should sit out conversations with international leaders involving peace negotiations going forward.

Leavitt mentioned that National Security Advisor Matt Waltz would be working “around the clock” this weekend on a deal and shared that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has been involved in discussions surrounding a proposed deal with the Ukrainians to harness raw minerals.
