Sex & Shenanigans

Sorry you are having a problem with your foot. I hope it is better soon
thanks, going in for new xrays in 2 weeks to see if its healing properly, then might swap the cast for one of those plastic boot thingies. i just wanna take a bath. cant even shower properly without wrapping the whole damn thing up with plastic bags and hooking my leg over the edge of the tub 😫

Hi, I'm V, and I'm a first-time-bonebreak'ee

HI V!

HI V!
That whole shower thing with a cast sucks. Broke my hand once and needed a cast. I did have a boot for another foot problem. The thing is they only give you one boot so you walk strangely LOL
Welcome to the broken bones club!

Okay, Secret Invasion series (Secret Wars movie won’t be out for a couple more years) and Iron Fist were bad, as was She Hulk…but don’t forget those who came before X-Men: Blade and Howard the Duck! 😜

Actually, one of my least favorite things about She Hulk was that the Daredevil actor slipped back into his native Brit accent, even though his character is supposed to be from Hell’s Kitchen, NYC 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s astounding that no one in the production caught that before release
See, I am one of those who loved She Hulk because it fit the feel of the comics. Breaking out of the Disney+ menu to go and yell at the writers that they were copying every Marvel story so far, so they should come up with something different was very much in the wheelhouse of the comics.

Daredevil is the best show Marvel has done so far. The acting, the gritty tone, the lighting, even the musical cues within scenes! The attention to detail was amazing, and everything was consistent.
Born Again is one thing Marvel had better get right.
I love the movies (a few could’ve been better of course), but Daredevil is in a class by itself for me.
I love it. I loved Jessica Jones more.

I was one of those who absolutely loved She-Hulk :giggle: It was goofy and cool and camp as hell. All pluses in my book! I never read any Blade comics as a kid, so, while cool movies I never associated those ones with Marvel. Same with Howard, don't think I've ever seen that one.
The Blade comics character and the movie Blade were vastly different. They later adjusted the comic character more like the film.
One thing that's great about not being a native speaker is that accent changes fly right past me 😂

First and third seasons of DD, first season of Jessica Jones, and the Guardians of the Galaxy films all top the list for me. Iron Man 1 holds a special place in my heart since it kicked off the worlds Marvel-mania. It wasn't the best film in the MCU but, holy shit, my face was like 😬 through the entire film! I was a kid again. Loved it.
Oddly enough to you, I agree with almost all of this, especially season one of Jessica Jones.

I don't know how I'd react if my SO asked me to choke her. I'd like to think I'm down for anything, but that just sounds like something that's fun in your brain but in actuality is pretty dangerous and could lead to bruising that requires an awkward and embarrassing explanation to people who care about you.
It requires a lot of conversation before hand. And you aren't actually choking them, in my experience, more slowing blood to the brain. Less dangerous and more controlled, and gives a massive endorphin rush for her. There are probably people who enjoy breath play, but I'm not comfortable with that. As the one choking, it is the utter level of trust she has in me that does it for me. That look of trust with her eyes locked on mine? Oh fuck....

But honestly, I am far more comfortable with just my hand on her throat. She is mine at that moment, and more important, she is allowing herself to be mine. Trust is such a turn on for me.

I've read that some gen Z women have complained that porn has led a lot of men their age to think that choking and other forms of rough sex is normalized and doesn't require consent anymore. I have no idea if that's accurate, because I'm older and have not dated in years, but it sounds pretty bad out there right now, especially for younger people in the dating pool.

"For the past four years, Dr. Herbenick has been tracking the rapid rise of “rough sex” among college students, particularly sexual strangulation, or what is colloquially referred to as choking. Nearly two-thirds of women in her most recent campus-representative survey of 5,000 students at an anonymized “major Midwestern university” said a partner had choked them during sex (one-third in their most recent encounter). The rate of those women who said they were between the ages 12 and 17 the first time that happened had shot up to 40 percent from one in four."

I'm not anti pornography, but porn has also done so much damage with stuff like this. We just believe what we take in.

Won’t leave bruises unless you’re doing it really hard. My impression is that usually when people are asking to be choked in bed they want a non dangerous hand on their neck, more like a sexy possessive thing than an ouchie or breath play thing.
Of course, lots of people enjoy more than that, but that definitely involves research and education to make sure you’re doing it safely.
Pain, breath play, a claiming possession... it's different for lots of people. Sure, it can leave bruises, but it doesn't have to. It's not about the danger, it's about the trust. As someone who enjoys aspects of this kinda play, I wouldn't ask just anyone I hook up with to do this. This is something reserved for my person only. The person I trust to stop when I need them to stop. The person to push when I need them to push. The person to just hold my neck if that's all I need.

But, it should be a conversation before anything happens in that department to know what both parties are comfortable with, for sure.

God how true this is. Kapten Röd has a reggae song about this that I absolutely adore, The War of the Colours, it's in Swedish though... Wish I could translate the absolutely brilliant wordplay he uses 😖 it's poetry, horrific and gorgeous poetry.

however you change the colour of our Reichstag, my sky will never turn blue
the colours are at war and the future mixes into grey
when we say "forward!" all they ask is "left or right?!"
The Who was more concise: "meet the new boss/same as the old boss."

I loved Luke Cage. Never been to Harlem, but love how they evoked the feel of it with local businesses like the barber shop and restaurants, and especially the music.

His accent took me out of it entirely, I was so damn annoyed. Loved Daredevil show and hope he does better in the new series.
Loved loved loved Blade. It came out 2 years before X-Men movie and was the first Marvel movie in over a decade and arguably kicked off the era of Marvel movies long before Iron Man launched the MCU. Howard the Duck came out in the 80s and was super campy, a little dirty, overall pretty bad, but still fun. Lea Thompson deserved some kind of award for pretending to be attracted to a big talking duck though! 😅

SHIELD got a bit lost in some of the later seasons, but pulled it off toward the end. Loved it overall, and Agent Carter. One of my other favorite Marvel shows was The Runaways…surprisingly good, even for something centered on a bunch of teenagers.
I love AoS, and especially their Ghost Rider arc, and am watching it every Monday with daughter (we still call it Buffy Night). Realized last Monday that Agent Carter was next! Love that show.

i also want to include/nominate agents of shield

Here's a fun fact I don't get to share very often!

I'm in Agents of Shield ☺️

Well not actually. I think I might be, or I might be on the cutting room floor. The first episode was filmed in Stockholm, on Sergels Square ("Plattan") and they'd advertised they'd be filming there beforehand, that's why there's a veritable sea of onlookers there. I'm on the upper platform a few rows back 🤣
