The Official (Most likely) 2025 Literotica April Fool's Day Contest Support Thread!!!

This might be a silly question, but I'd like clarification on how important the actual date is.

I have a story I've been working on that is all about pulling off a big deception against the antagonist, but it's not a single day type story. I do have an easy way to tie in the April 1st date, and probably will use it even if the story doesn't qualify for the contest, but it would be more of a foreshadowing coincidence than a critical part of the story.

I would tell you that that the date, as such, shouldn't matter; it's a contest that celebrates deception and trickery, and adding a reference to April 1st isn't really necessary. Though the readers are likely to appreciate it.

Yes, I would tell you all that... if I thought my advice was worth following. My past performance in this contest would suggest that I am clueless about what this contest entails. I think a number of other writers, judging from past threads, would say something similar: this is a difficult contest to "solve," for some of us.

Though maybe that's the whole point. Maybe we're the fools.

Some of my stories involving plot twists have not gone over well with the readers. Due to my slow learning curve, I’m going to try doing the same thing over and over again while hoping for a different outcome. 😜

Good God, man, are you mad?

As a side-note, the origin of the quote "Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results" and variations seems to be a mystery. It probably wasn't Einstein, but it has been found in 1980s pamphlets about drugs and addiction.

I spent a good half-hour yesterday working out the likely number of identical, red-haired, female mirror twins aged between 20-25 in the world's population and working that into the Author's note to my draft story. Then I deleted all of that because it didn't add anything to the story. I think I just need to submit the thing....

Editing / fleshing out my 7.5k word draft. This will be my first I/T submission. I think it fits the category (it involves a trick/twist ending, where the reader should realize they've been deceived) but I could see some voters not really agreeing.

And it's up. For the first time ever, done weeks ago and sat ready to be uploaded. Unlike the second one, which is still acting like a large dog half way through a walk that refuses to get up and move!

Heaven & Hell - Can't Fool April is somewhat a little off the wall

Mine is up too. "Mirror Twin" is my first shot at Incest/Taboo. Redheaded twin women on holiday in Paris, having fun by trying to fund some of their European trip with a variety show performance, and discovering more about themselves in the process of course. It was fun to write and I hope people enjoy it (hard to tell so far.. it was scoring okay until a couple of bombs got thrown as usual).

I have a second idea for a story, but it would likely be destined for Loving Wives so not a serious contender score-wise for the competition (but perhaps worth it for the shits and giggles if I can pull it off).

I never expect to win any of these. And, as I posted already, all my stories for this contest end up shitting the bed.

But? I wrote it and I like it, so it gets posted. I don't usually like sitting on these things.

I've just re-read it and I don't like it nearly as well as I remembered. The characters are awful people, even by my standards. I suspect I only finished it for the sake of the ending.

I have to think about this. I might not want to submit.

LOL come join me in the sewer! Read and rated Mirror Twin, mucho enjoyed

My story, Potato Chip, is up. A logger from Idaho encounters a sexy older woman on a plane to Orlando. Their tale of mutual seduction spills over from plane to poolside. Some clever word play, and befitting April Fools Day, surprises at the end.

Is it normal for a story submitted for a contest not to show up on the actual contest page immediately? I sent my story in little over a week ago. It was approved last Wednesday, and had a "Published" date listed of 3/3/2025. As of this morning, I am able to see my story under my author profile, and it shows up in the "New Erotic Stories" list, but it is not displayed on the actual April Fools 2025 Contest page. I thought for sure I would it make it onto the contest page immediately since I submitted it so far ahead of time.

(To clarify, I DID add the correct note to admins and story tag.)

FYI, my story title is: Daddy Gets "April Fooled"

If anyone else has their story missing, I’m happy to add you to the “class action” PM I have with @Laurel and @Manu - seems quite a few stories are missing in action (same as with the 750 word stories before). Just PM me. Or post here.
