I was concerned but since musk is just a lowly advisor, Iā€™m sure trump can explain to the nation why tech programmers are looking at our treasury and social security systems rather than auditors.

Soā€¦ in the Oval Office the guy towering over our president was not the head of any department that he was answering questions about? The real head of DOGE was the kid on his shoulders ?

The proper answer is there is no DOGE! Congress never approved it. It had no funding!!

But damn it is taking care of all those who have crossed Musk. Funny that !!??

DOGE doesnā€™t exist, the USDS does, and the reason DOGE doesnā€™t exist is because only Congress can create a federal department, and either President Trump didnā€™t have the votes to create ā€œDOGEā€ or he and Elon Musk knew the latter would have to testify before Congress to get those votes and Musk was unwilling to do so;

Barack Obama created the USDS, not Donald Trump or Elon Musk, so the entity that is doing all the things Trump and Musk are so proud of was not created by either of them;

the only legal remit the USDS has (per the language of the above-linked-to EO from Trump) is ā€œmodernizing government technology,ā€ which means that any other activity it engages in (under its own steam or as ā€œDOGEā€) is per se illegal;

the USDS administrator (whether called colloquially the ā€œDOGE administratorā€ or not) must be Senate-confirmed, and Musk is not willing to go through that process (nor is the White House willing to explain how the USDS operated for over a month at a frenetic pace when it only just now, at the very end of February 2025, named someone to lead it);

Fairly succinct explanation. 47 is taking action taking advantage of the lag of the court system.

Once Democrats take the legislature back, laws need to be put in place to address the current situation. Measures need to be put i place to be triggered automatically for Congress to provide oversight. They may clear actions by the President or they may not but it can't be reliant on who is in power.. And the yes men need to be exposed rather than hiding behind inaction to do their jobs.
 
Yes, the court lag allows for the damage to have already been done before the action is ruled upon.
Also the greedy & lazy MSM are to blame for legitimising in the public mind, DOGE as a fed dept even to this day.

Finally had anyone ever hear of Curtis Yarvin ? This is the anti-democratic, neo reactionary philosophy behind Musk & Vance & Thiel, Andreeson a number of rich tech financial underwriters of Trump's campaign & presidency

The goal is to destroy the US by gutting it & reshaping it into a company-like structure with a CEO and worker slaves

I hope you're right about taking the legislature back but I fear things are a lot more serious than realised.
