The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I've added things to my daily schedule. Signed up with a trainer and gym. That's a daily workout and a weekly trainer appt. I'm working up to multiple hours.... Knee right now does me in. Friends I can slip out of the house with. Got to keep moving. I spend allot of effort avoiding the news cycle... That requires effort lol
I will be returning to my trainer as I build my stamina back up.

Thanks! I might be a touch better, but it's hard to say.
I'm currently dockside, but in a different port than we departed from, so none of us have a vehicle here.

To answer your question, in an emergency, we can get a med-flight from offshore, but I assure you, I'll never utilize that if I'm not bleeding out, broken up, and/or conscience.
Make sure you utilize the medevac BEFORE any of those happen!

So last night, I met the team. I’m working with and we had a happy hour here in Hartford. I knew some of them and met a lot of other people.

The building for the happy hour was, was the repurposed old Colt firearms factory. It was really cool. Now it’s like hipster, apartments and breweries, but back in the day it looks something like this…

(Page thru to other images, esp if you like old pics and guns)

I love old buildings!

Yeah, I bet the all loosely translate to "White Shit".

All kidding aside, we have a lot of ways to describe the snow we get. Even then it's still white shit.

Few photos for the day. I think this means it's time to shovel the roof.

When the sun went down, the moon was bright enough for a shadow selfie. This is the snow that still needs to come off the roof.

And when we quit for the night, we took a ride to the back of the property. It a few degrees below zero out there now. With maybe 36" of snow pack on the ground.

Did I mention I'm allergic to cold 🥶...
That last picture is beautiful! 😍😍

I bought gas this afternoon and took a picture of the pump to show you. There are three pumps nozzles. The one on the right is the 3-4 blends of "standard" gasoline, which is usually 10% ethanol these days. The green one on the far left is some concoction called Auto-Diesel. Think "diesel" and disregard it. Not for you. The second one in from the left is blue and says it's ethanol free. More expensive, but since you're only buying for small engines, price isn't an issue.

Wat: Thinking only of others . . . .

I've seen the green pump handles and know they are for diesel. I've never seen blue pump handles here. 🤔

Is..is that.. a mouse on your shoulder, tipping his hat?

Took forever to figure out how to move it without hurting myself.
Be very careful with the heavy, wet snow. They don't call it heart attack snow for nothing. Had a friend lose her spouse that way.
Ah retirement. I think I stay up so late lately because I can't decide whats for dinner until now. 8:30 on the east coast.
Oh, holy cow! I need at least 3 hours after I eat before I can lay down and sleep. I'd be up all night. 🧟‍♀️ 😪
Does the Army spring for the optional backup camera? 🤣🤣🤣
Ooooh - and the "Beep, Beep" backup sound?? I vote for that option!!
I called my contractor in the middle of the game and yelled at him!😈 Then I made snacks and watched KC get their butts handed to them.

I usually research the car with the options I want then decide how much I want to pay (within reason). I'm never afraid to walk away from a "deal."

I told him about the one we had just driven. He did a dealer trade for it the next day and my husband got his Blazer in a week!
I do the same research. And not afraid to tell them no and get up and go.
Last car search I burned an entire morning w/ my brother (11 yrs younger than me). We set up several test drives. It was made clear - I was the buyer - I would be back solo after lunch for the test drive - any purchase would be with me.
Went back after lunch - half said, "Sorry, that salesman isn't here now. You'll need to reschedule the test drive."
The other half said, "Where's your husband? We can't do a test drive without him".
I told them all they just missed out on a cash sale - and walked.
Did more research. Then found a workplace ad for someone selling the balance of their lien. Test drive to my mechanic then stopped at the credit union and service desk to pay and change title. Was a sweet deal. And no pesky salesman.
My husband is that way
He tells them give us there best price
If he doesn’t like it no haggling we just walk out
We saved 10,000 dollars on our truck but we walked out of a few
They went to say something and he told them
They had there chance
OMG - my dad used to do this at the mall.
He'd tell the first salesperson (usually a hs kid) that he knew they worked on commission and they tagged him first. So he would find them if he had questions or when he was ready to check out. But if they badgered him while he was shopping, he would leave and they would lose the sale. He said the last part while pointing to his gaggle of teenage children already looking over the merchandise.
Dad: "Right, kids?"
Not even looking up, in unison, "yes, dad"
Do the shoes make one dance like that? I actually want some light-up shoes! 🤭🤭🤭
IDK - but they're having a sale. Good thing, these suckers ain't cheap!
Bright LED Shoes
Yeah, and my spirit animal is a sloth.

And on that note... Sweet Dreams all...

Sounds like a good and healthy continuation of things and boundaries.
Thank you. My wife put up with me working evenings and weekends in the sports industry for all those years, plus my solo trips to various parts of the world for major events.

Now we play pickleball together, enjoy long country walks, and every new destination we visit together, both in the UK and abroad, leads to a new hotel bed that needs to be christened!
