Oh, god, First Edition Shadowrun. I love the source books -- they are amazing! Deep, rich, beautiful. The novels. It is honestly one of my favorite worlds, I just love it.

The game was nigh unplayable. It got better, but gah.

One year for Halloween we all dressed up as our shadowrun characters. As the Forever GM I don’t have one so I dressed up as an elven decker styled after SF Vega.

Did you know if you Liquid latex the tips of your ears closed it looks elfin? Or that if you cut out the snap of your jeans and glue it to your forehead and set an AV cord inside, it looks like you’re plugged into tech?

I don’t cosplay much so I get excited.

Heh, there is a reason my Lit "From" is Tir Tairngire.

I actually did a novel on spec for FASA. Got paid $25 to write and submit, and they would pay me by the word if they printed it. The company folded before I got turned down, heh.

So once I ran an Earthdawn and robbed the plot of SW:ANH. A wingless wingling was my c-3p0

I delighted and robbing the plot and them not knowing until the cantina scene.

Now I’m thinking … the plot of Baldur’s Gate 3 could be pretty cool in Shadow Run

Edit: sometimes it’s all about timing. But your story option is very very cool.

Never cosplayed (other than a wearing a third-hand trench coat, black sunglasses and a BFG for games at times, and I thank the PtB for no cellphones then), but I love that.

I still have all of my Shadowrun sourcebooks and most of my Earthdawn, boxed up, but I have a few on my bookshelf to use as magic tradition inspiration when needed.
