Remember that Trump had a Republican Congress the first half of his first term. They would have done anything he wanted. All he got done was a tax cut we didn't need, a military Space Force we didn't need, and appointment of RW federal judges who will cause damage to the Republic for decades. He just didn't have any more ideas except for an impossible border wall that even he has stopped talking about.

But he doesn't need any ideas of his own, now. He has Project 2025.

A federal judge has blocked Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) from accessing the personal financial data of millions of Americans in Treasury Department records, according to court documents.
US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a preliminary injunction on Saturday to prohibit access, ordering Musk and his team to immediately destroy any copies of records.
The move comes after 19 state attorneys general sued the Trump administration after Doge, a cost-cutting initiative led by Musk, was given access to the records.

Clinton worked with Congress to address waste. He did not unilaterally fire people without notice. He did not target political adversaries. He did not hire a private CEO and give him unfettered access to government systems.

The bottom line is that during the Clinton years, Article 1 and Article 2 worked together to make cuts to government excess agreed to by a large number of agencies who understood what those agencies did.
