I think Peter Jackson came close turn the LOTR. But then he respected the source materials and didn’t try to change too much.

I know there was a little pushback on certain scenes that were left out...I also think the studio wanted him to cut more but he stood his ground for sure...and they were awesome!

The Princess Bride book is amazing, as is the film.
Fight Club might be a better movie than book.
Shawshank Redemption is likely a better film than book to be honest!
I read The Hunger Games and the books arent great, so perhaps the film.
Maybe blasphemy but The Godfather movie is also at least on par with the book...

the directors cut of those films are much better than the theatrical releases. but they still left out a ton.
that said, great films.

I have never read the Princess Bride, but did see the movie in the theater. The hunter games are you bad if books. Only saw the first movie.

the books are shit for the most part. She isnt a good writer. Good STORY and a few decent characters but poor writing.
The movies arent great either but...

princess bride book is absolutely fantastic (especially if yer a fan of the film)

2. tv/movie reference...my only clue is that the book is pretty fun and the movie was not a great adaptation of the book.

Well the books were written for a younger audience. Sometimes I feel like the simplify things.
