I knew you would.I’m only 60 pages in, and absolutely loving it.
Holy fuck. I read the sample pages at lunch and was sobbing over the purple horse ffs. EnjoyOmg Lori stop what you're doing and read The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden. Beautiful and haunting. I've not finished it and I miss it already. An utter corker.
Ooh, I LOVED The Snow Child. Let me know how you like this one. Also Hamnet was a beautiful read. Shakespeare not at the forefront of this much, it's the loss of his son seen through his wife's eyes, who by the way is one of the best characters I've encountered. And O'Farrell writes about grief perfectly.
Next up Eowyn Ivey's Black Woods, Blue Sky. It might be a hat trick of literary gorgeousness.
Yes it's one of my all time faves and this looks like another fairy tale retelling. I didn't gel much with her second novel.Ooh, I LOVED The Snow Child. Let me know how you like this one.
Nothing to do with the above, but do you use the Storygraph app? I love it for tracking my reading.Yes it's one of my all time faves and this looks like another fairy tale retelling. I didn't gel much with her second novel.
Nah. I just keep reading one after the other.Nothing to do with the above, but do you use the Storygraph app? I love it for tracking my reading.
I'm a little OCD, so I like to keep track, plus I like to see the numbers piling up every year.Nah. I just keep reading one after the other.Although now senility is looming I sometimes wonder...fuck have I read this? So might be handy after all!
It's absolutely gorgeous and I wish I hadn't finished it so fast. I'm going through a book bereavement right now.Ooh, I LOVED The Snow Child. Let me know how you like this one.
