I came back to ask the Americans... are you ok?

Medicare is beaten, but that happened on Broadway Joey’s watch.

Medicare
Medicaid
NOAA

Should I keep going?
They won't gut NOAA, just remove anything related to climate science, you know, the reason it exists. Once they scrub all the science away it will still be there, telling us a tornado hit afterwards.

Watching from afar, this all looks pretty extreme, and I wanted to see how all you average Americans were taking this. So I have a few questions, if you could indulge me for a few minutes.

  • How did you vote?
  • What's your general mood, in regards current political happenings?
  • Has any of it had a direct impact on you or your family?
  • What, in your opinion, has been the single best and the single worst Trump move since taking office?
  • What are your thoughts on Elon's role?

The old timers are already aware of my attention span. Long, rambling rants will be lost on me.
Voted GOP

very happy but will admit that all this winning is exhausting

No direct impact on me or my family yet, the reconciliation bill will affect all of us wrt tax rates

Thanks to President Trump’s EOs, deportations, and positive steps taken since the election by our little brothers and sisters in Mexico and Canada, border encounters have dropped dramatically. DEI is dead and two genders are back.

Elon is rocking the entrenched bureaucracy. Doing a fantastic job.

How about you? Are you okay? Are you safe in your streets? I was in London recently and all seems fine but different than what I expected.

My mood is great. I voted for Trump.

Trump will accomplish great things in office.

Elon Musk is a national hero. At present he is an official appointed government employee that has already saved the American people billions upon billions of dollars and has exposed a gigantic deep state/international criminal endeavor in the matter of the USAID.

Shockingly enough, any news source that has paid subscription fees for access will be on several government agencies "payroll"
The amount given to Politico, 34.3 million, divided by its subscribers returns a calculation of roughly $10,000 per yearly subscription. Now who is going to pay that amount to read the content of Politico...nobody. In addition on the same day that Trump froze all outgoing payments of USAID, Politico wrote in a memo to its employees that there was a problem with the issuance of paychecks. That should tell you something. Go here to see Liz Wheeler show you exactly how to access the USAID website and what to click on to view the outgoing payments:

Come back again.
Meh. Mostly because I'm still sour about the GB turning into a cumdump.
The US political system is has been run by cronyism and graft for so long. A shake up has been needed. We will either survive or not. :)
Well that's an interesting perspective. Buy champagne in case it works, and marshmallows in case it doesn't?
"May you live in interesting times" springs to mind. You're definitely not going to be bored!
  1. I voted for Kamela Harris, as all intelligent Americans did.
Question: Do you think running a woman against trump was a tactical error? With such a divisive character, wouldn't the sensible choice be a boring, middle aged white guy, with a wife, four kids, and a history or military service and businesses success?
Oh, and AJ has suddenly disappeared in this, his hour of triumph. I hope he doesn't have viral pneumonia again, that almost killed him last time. It's a horrible way to die, essentially drowning from your own fluid in your lungs. Not altogether an inappropriate ending for someone like AJ, but horrible nonetheless.
That's a shitter. We're all just so fucking old these days.

Dorf,

You are watching from afar. Probably in Britain. Get your news from the BBC? CNN? From my time in UK and CH there was no news outlet available that reported the actual news of the US.

Here we just finished a 4 year Presidential term with absolutely no transparency. The Presidency was diminished to that of a figure head in name only. No one to this day knows who was making decisions on his behalf. If you are reading this thread most seem to think that is A OK. However, it is no way was OK. Now there is an actual person as President. Transparent. Completely open on how he is leading and the progress made. I doubt you can hear or read past the noise here or in media.

I did vote for this. I met Trump when he was Mr. Trump. I was at his namesake casino in AC. He was a blast to talk to. Like speaking with a friend. Genuine. Using NYC as a playground I also noticed his properties were cleaner than others.

My mood is described as frustrated. Same as President Trump's first term. Having won the election the naysayers are obstructionist and are doing everything they can to stop progress, increase the cost of government with frivolous lawsuits and repeating opinion editors as fact.

Its only been a week or two. At this point my investments have increased in value. Still waiting for the haters to get out of the way so we can see what other advantages American's are being afforded. Internationally the media has not reported anything. Only sound bites have been amplified and used to mislead. I also believe that the end of funding for Putin's war on Ukraine is already having a beneficial affect. Still waiting for NATO to decide what to do with this mess they could have avoided in the first place.

Elon is doing what I wished I could have exposed when I was inside as a worker bee at the fed. Only better. I could only see waste. Rooting out the corruption is awesome so far. So blatant, I hope we see lawsuits against the users. It will be like music listening to all the liberals whine that government has been weaponized as their leach like taps are exposed one by one.

Been here long enough to know your user Dorf is a second to one of the noisy ones on here. Fuzzy is your friend.

Somebody still has some explaining to do with how the Joe Biden who showed up at the debate was hidden away from everyone until it was too late to really do anything about it.

Ha! I'd forgotten how much you guys bicker.

Good. I still walk the dogs at 3am.

What were you doing in London?
