The 2025 750 Word Story Challenge Support Thread

Read it and it gave me a bad taste. The husband is even more of an asshole than in the first.
And there are some disparities. In the wife's version he said he had been kind and devoted in previous relationships. In the second he had learned how to treat a woman from his father's handbook so..... No mention what that handling did for his mother.
Then he watches his wife and doesn't have a clue until she says no to his comments and her semi-redeeming (sincere?) ' I love him'. And he wants to screw on cam? No discussion of changing minds about why his treatment or how it did not work. Not having a kid thing. Still pathetic either way they go and the husband is still an asshole. Might have done better in one of the other categories. You did get close to a 3 for this one.
Hmm. Is that a disparity though? Did I ever say she interviewed the exes who painted him in a bright light or did I say he told her about how he was with his exes and made her question why he couldn't be that way with her?

I'm pretty sure I painted him as a guy who couldn't be taken at his word, she just doesn't know that and is unlikely to realize that because now she's in a position where he could ruin her life if she doesn't go along with what he wants.

It was in the right category, it's just not the story you wanted it to be, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Edited to add:

Also, he was an asshole in her story and she's telling it while seeing him through rose-colored glasses. If he was anything but an even bigger asshole in his, I would've been inconsistent with the character. His story was supposed to leave a bad taste after reading it. He's a predator.

My first vote was a 1.

One Busy Lady (750 words)

My first was a 5. Of course, it was a vote for myself after lurking on the system seconds after it went up. 😜 Downhill from there. Currently 3.87/23.

It's not just trolls. There are evidently a fair number of readers who simply do not like super-short stories like these and will punish them accordingly. Also, sort of troll-ish is that the single-page format all but invites 1-bombs - they don't have to flip through pages to do their damage.

I always forget to vote on my own, lol.

I know from experience 750 stories usually don't score well - see my bottom 3 stories that aren't in LW...

So was pleasantly surprised just now to actually have a red H on My Dom, In Boots. It'll probably last ten minutes, until the next few voters regress to the mean.

I might be alone in this, but low votes are just as valid as high. I went into this expecting between a 2 & 2.5 and a 4 for the erotic horror. So far, I'm only a little disappointed with the erotic horror. That 1 felt personal, lol.

Very short stories are disliked because there is most often not enough to tell the story. Yes, they are designed to leave things unsaid, but they should still satisfy. Your Busy Lady story fits the bill. It has an unreal vibe at the beginning that is explained in the last line. I enjoyed it. You hit the marks. I'd expect it to rate above a 4 easily.

Why is this even so damned addictive? I wasn't going to enter this year, but just finished my third entry. :ROFLMAO:
This one is current day with magic. i guess that's still Sci-Fi/Fantasy, right?

That's why this exercise exists, to challenge the writer. The very minimum length of a story allowed on Literotica is 750 words so in the shortest day of the month we celebrate the shortest stories. Why not give it a try and see if you can come up with 750 words that you can be proud of.

Read, Voted, and Commented! Loved it!

My first entry has been approved, and should be up tonight, and I'm working on my 2nd entry.

Both your stories were well balanced and put in the appropriate categories. By using the Cinderella story you had no need for the backstory and it made the revenge sweet.
Thanks very much. I plan on reading as many as I can from everyone else this coming week.

Tried it once and hated it. It felt inadequate so I scrapped the plan and made it longer and more satisfying to me and the readers.

Yeah, not everyone has the fortitude to succeed. Thanks for trying
One of my 750 word stories is now a full length novel

I posted min as the clock struck febuary so It mine will probably be up early next week. Fingers crossed on the votes. My first 750 try so I have no idea of what to expect but crushing defeat :)

edited to avoid a visit by the Department of Redundancy Department

I have my first(?) story ready for submission, but, as has happened in the past, I'm stuck on finding the right category. It started out as a straightforward foot worship story, but has morphed into a gender neutral romance (these characters just won't act the way I want them to). So, I appeal to the wisdom of the crowd here: how would you classify a story that is intentionally gender neutral (no gender designations are stated or inferred in the story), starts with foot worship and ends with "I love you, my pet," with nary an orgasm in sight?
