None of the water released from the reservoirs made it to Southern California. It just flooded farmer’s fields up north then drained into the ocean. It was a complete waste in a state that need to carefully husband its freshwater resources.

I used a laugh emoji, but it really is about the level his mind works at. Nothing as sane as scientific advisors or educating himself.

The crazy thing is that if every single reservoir in LA was chock full of water it would have made no difference at all. Why ? because the fires were advancing on such a wide front that hundreds of hoses would have been needed. However, most of the pipe reticulation in domestic areas would be 6 inch diameter - possibly less. Hoses are generally about 2.5 inches diameter . How many hoses do you reckon it would take to suck all the water out of a 6 inch many even if you put a booster pump on the system. Answer not many. The fire fighters know that fact , but they have been drowned out by ignorant yap gabbing politicians who know sweet fuck all about the water demands required to fight a fire.

The only way to have fought that fire was by strategic back burning of ground cover and fuel in calm weather for months and years before these fires. Trump illustrated he either knows nothing or doesn't even have a first year engineering student he could ask.

And incidentally when handing out blame for the fires remember that the Federal government owns 49% of the land in California - mainly forest and Wilderness.
