Trump moves to declassify documentation related to assassinations of JFK, MLK Jr. and RFK

Yes, but also a move to attempt to justify his forthcoming dismantling of the FBI and other investigative institutions. (No matter that they happened decades ago.)

Should be interesting re: what's found vs. what isn't.

Yeah, we already know that back when all those DEI “white male only” hires were running things at the FBI, etc, they weren’t always acting professionally…

😑

  • The Warren Report was originally sealed from the public until 2039.
  • The JFK Reporting Law was passed in 1992, mandating release of information in 2017.
  • Then-president Trump released half of the information regarding the assassination in 2017.
  • President Joe Biden released almost all of the rest of in to little notice in 2021.
About ONE PERCENT of the assassination report remains classified top secret.
This is purportedly the names of one or more highly placed Soviet citizens who supplied Soviet state secrets to the CIA and NSA for their entire careers. These agents are long since retired from Soviet intelligence but are allegedly still alive, and the United States feels honor-bound to protect their identities for their lifetime of service to the United States.

I'm sure President Trump is looking forward to outing the Soviet moles to regain favor with Vladimir Putin.

The newly (rereleased) files actually DO contain new information, information withheld by President Biden's administration and trump's own former presidential admin: the details of around 200 people's social security!

Donald Trump’s former campaign lawyer is furious after his personal information and social security number were made public as part of this week’s release of unredacted JFK assassination files.

“It’s absolutely outrageous. It’s sloppy, unprofessional,” Joseph diGenova, a long-time Trump supporter who formerly served as the president’s lawyer on the campaign trail, told the Washington Post.

“It not only means identity theft, but I’ve had threats against me,” diGenova said. “In the past, I’ve had to report real threats against me to the FBI“There are dangerous nuts out there.”
you voted for trump. Didn't think the leopard would eat your face, did ya?

Although there were still a few redactions, the 60,000 document dump (almost all of which was previously released by both trump and President Biden), included:

the social security numbers of around 200 former congressional staffers and others, according to the Post, including 100 members of the Senate Church Committee established in 1975 to investigate abuses of authority by American intelligence services such as the CIA and FBI.

Many of the individuals mentioned in the documents are still alive, including 80-year-old diGenova, who served on the committee in the 1970s.

“It makes sense that my name is in there,” he told the Post, “but the other sensitive stuff — it’s like a first-grade, elementary-level rule of security to redact things like that.”
They people whose information was so willfully released on the order of "unredacted files, I order the release of them all, unredacted!" trump should sue BIGLY.... though that really only means the American taxpayer would be forking out and not trump, personally :(
