I want to write a (woman friendly) story about a married couple in their 50s where both have busy jobs and the marriage is still good. But she misses intimacy. She has a BFF who is single who also finds hubby and wife attractive, but never came between them and respected their monogamous relationship. Once, when BFF visited her, hubby was at work and both woman had a long discussion about relationships and missing intimacy of wife. Then BFF hugs wife and atmosphere and few glasses of wine result gradually in French kissing and slowly into fondling each others tits. None of them is lesbian, but sometimes straight woman make incidentically love with another woman.
At that moment hubby came home and saw both women half naked in the living room and wondered what to do now ...

You have a first act that ends in an inciting incident.

Drama would suggest this cause conflict in the marriage/friend group that later gets mended. Porn would suggest that this scene plays out more or less according to masturbatory fantasy.

Husband gets mad at the friend for trying to seduce his wife, thinks she's a lesbian homewrecker. BFF gets defensive and lets him know she isn't a lesbian and if she really wanted to break them up she would try seducing him not her. Mexican standoff ensues.

Okay, first criterion is 'woman-friendly'. That to me suggests more emotions, more thinking than instant action.

Man is stunned, it goes without saying. Wife is, probably, mortified at being surprised like that, maybe confused at discovering bi impulses, fearful of losing man who she really still loves. BFF is...

This has great potential. I suppose the key question is where you want it to go. It could play out any number of ways, from instant orgy (unlikely, given the 'w-f') to divorce (possible, but maybe less likely?).

I can see this opening in first-person, with still-shocked man sitting in his favourite bar, working hard at getting wrecked (and succeeding), trying to wrap his head around what just hit him and his marriage. Bartender (or best friend, hurriedly summoned) is: a) burn the bitch or b) what do you want to happen? or c) what does she say? I think this is the way I'd go and - personal favour, please - if you decide not to write it, please let me know.

Actually, the more I think on it, this has the potential for a solid writing event.

Whatever you do, I don't think you should rush things. This is going to take a lot of processing for everyone involved (but gives you a chance to flesh out some possibly memorable characters.)

You can keep the erotic embers alive by visual flashbacks and detailed discussion. I did something like this last year but it took considerable time and care. Good luck.

I like subverting tropes sometimes. Husband decides to nobly bow out and let his wife and friend be happy.

He sends a note later. Now Wife has to track him down and explain. Meanwhile he gets drunk in the hotel bar, and a fellow barely seduces him.

It's basically a homewrecker story - the BFF seduced the wife.

So you could follow one of the routes homewrecker stories take. Burn both bitches, or, turn the trope on its head by having this incident wreck the BFF's marriage when she moves in to form a permanent trio with the original couple.

Have the jilted other husband be a cheater, already, himself, if you don't want to deal with the whole aspect where this screws him over for no good reason.

And don't forget the happy ending - if "she misses intimacy" was the initial conflict, resolve it and show her happily ever after, intimacy wise.

Fellow barfly. Dammit. Stupid autocorrect.

Working from the assumption that the couple is happy in their marriage and still love each other AND that they are mature adults:
This a WTF moment for him. He will question her fidelity. He doesn't have to do it explosively, but this does not get swept under the rug. There are going to be long talks, there will probably be couples therapy involved if you want them to work it out.
Why do they have a loss of intimacy? Is it just because they're busy, or does one/both of them feel neglected. Does one/both of them have health issues causing lack of desire or ability?
1, A guy who feels his wife is neglecting his needs/desires and then comes home and finds that same wife half naked on the couch with her best friend is going to react VERY negatively. He might very well assume she's gone Lesbian and that's why he's not getting what he wants. His next call probably is a divorce lawyer. The friend has almost no power in this scenario.
2, A man who is hesitant to initiate intimacy because of performance/health issues is going to feel guilty if he catches his wife in that scenario. He has failed her and she is seeking what she needs elsewhere. He will probably turn around and walk out assuming she is done with him. This scenario is fraught with possibilities and emotional entanglements. He probably texts her and tells her he will grant her a divorce and won't fight it. It will be up to her if she wants to save the marriage. This is where the friend can be a friend or be a homewrecker. A really interesting twist would be for the wife to become slightly dominant and his submission spurs a new type of intimacy. (You might look at some of the Gentle Dom tags for ideas.)
3. If the lack of intimacy is mutual and just "one of those things" it might lead to an option to explore polyamory or they may use it as an opportunity to fix the marriage. You have a few scenes of very intense emotional distress, threats to leave, serious discussion of separation/divorce, followed by the realization that they don't want to throw away what they have spent YEARS building and seek reconciliation. Again, the friend can be a friend or a homewrecker. If the latter, and the couple decides to stay together anyway, the friend is OUT and both will hate her.

#2 has more options for sex, and the emotion comes out of the sex. #3 has much more emotional weight, the sex is probably more sparse but fed by the intensity of emotion. However, #3 could also be used to explore non-intercourse sex options. There are some some great opportunities for humor in that story.

Well I consider a plot where the friend (she is single and has occasional dates) is a very good (hence BFF) friend of the wife for more decades. They share all intimacy details and on a moment this leads to (soft) intimacy between te two women which is probably once, because they are not really lesbian. And both know that hubby and BFF are attracted to each other, but they refrained from any intimacy between them, so no cheating.
This might lead to dominance of wife over husband. Anyway, I want the story have a happy ending.

So a standard porn plot. Not a problem. If you want to go deeper than a spank story let the husband blame himself for the lack of intimacy. The BFF, seeing how far down this could spiral (she’s been there done that), stops him from leaving. They sit down together and talk for a bit. BFF takes a slight domme role and directs the two of them in pleasuring each other. When they’re done, she reminds them that she needs a little loving as well. They both please her- the wife engaging in some sensual kissing and groping, the husband responsible for everything below the waist. They all have a happy memory and the husband and wife grow close again.

Two chubby housewives in their 50s making out in the living room... Hmm. Thanks for the image.

Might be a good plot.

Of course they're not gay. They are experimenting.

Anyway, without that backstory I would definitely have hubby watching, at least out of curiosity just to see how this unfolds. The missing link here is why there's no intimacy in that marriage, and there's a lot of reasons for it. I'm going to go on a limb and say that the wife perceives their relationship as a happy marriage, but hubby is just... not in that marriage anymore. Most conflicting scenario would be he's already seeing someone else.

I think I'd have him watching everything unfold, and once it's over, he'll drop the "I want a divorce" bomb, and not exactly for what he just witnessed.

I somehow missed this in my previous reply. You could do an interesting one-off Cuckquean story. The wife, wanting to be fair or make up for her infidelity, encourages her husband bff to enjoy each other a bit. Years of sexual tension leads to a very intense sex scene, but both are also very conscious of the wife. Afterward the 3 cuddle together. Then the wife ‘reclaims’ him. The pillow talk leads to one of the most intimate conversations they’ve had in years and they build a stronger relationship going forward.

I agree. You should take some time to dive into the emotions here. Her confusion. His grief. The BFFs guilt. I'd start it with ...
"I think you should leave."
The BFF sighs and says, "Okay."
He shakes his head. "No. Both of you."
The wife stands there shaken to her core. His look makes it obvious that he's not joking or in doubt. "Greg, I'm ..." He just shakes his head and walks out the back door and has a seat on a patio chair, his back to her.
BFF says, "Lets give him a little while to think things through. You can stay with me tonight."
Wife turns on her, her face full of anger. "What if he decides to ..." She can't bring herself to complete the thought.

Everything after that is the meat of this story. You can go as trope-ish as you want or not.

The husband who was all for monogamy, yet stereotypically fantasized about the idea, feigning the illusion that he's strictly monogamous, as he spots the quarter empty wine bottle and their game of grab tit:

I think its very important in a female-friendly story to have lots of chick on chick action while a guy watches, so your story could do very well
