I technically like breath of the wild better. but totk is hella fun. the first main boss (hopefully you do that guy first, you can sort of choose), is easily the most fun of all of them.
the final boss, ganon, is one heck of a fun fight. do NOT start reading how to beat him or looking up spoilers or itll ruin the fun, truly. happy to give you tips whenever though...its an epic game.
I liked totk better myself. I enjoy building absurd devices and running shit over with them. And the online tutorials for the ganondorf fight were not particularly helpful, I did better with my own tactics.

I apparently have several new followers (thank you!!!!!!) but that missed all my pics and videos because of my purge a week or two ago.

In that spirit, I will repost some from time to time.
And since today is "Wet Wednesday" enjoy the below pic

ok...

please vote A or B

A. move to new job. pays more...like a lot more (like seriously, 40k more). does NOT pay for vacation time. potentially decently UNDERqualified and that poses some serious risk for sure. might be awesome experience to add to resume and new contacts and exposure etc. might have to use own laptop as opposed to being given one which would suck for checking email/lit/banking/spotify/youtube etc.. bigname client. been working on landing this job for about four months or so.

B. stay at current job. work on different project with different team. pay is still quite good just not elite. does pay vacation like a full-time job (not contract etc). last project didn’t work out for variety of factors so maybe there is a "flag" in your file. new project sounds right up yer alley. work in a "silo" of sorts,s o you aren’t depending on tons of people which could be a good or bad thing.

I think you answered your own question but just trying to rationalize it. It sounds like in B , if I’m reading this correctly, that you’re already flagged and not a full time employee but a contractor. In that case you’re probably one mistake away from being terminated. Could even be a setup. You also didn’t say how many weeks vacation you have, I’m guessing 15 days.

If you’re under qualified for the new job, that’s probably fine. Not many people are really qualified for the jobs they apply for and they grow into them. Technical skills you can learn, leadership is more of an art or a personality attribute. Leadership and problem solving ability are probably what they’re really looking for. Example: not everyone who applies to be president of a company, was actually a president of another company beforehand.

You’re young so the experience would definitely be a plus on your resume.

Having to use your own computer is a minor factor, except that it’s a red flag that the company is too cheap to lease one for you. A company computer usually has key stroke tracking and blocks social media and porn. So if you’re going to spend a significant amount of time doing that, it would be detrimental to any job. Companies give you a computer for a reason; to safeguard their data and to make sure you’re productive and NOT on social media.

The other red flag for the new company is no vacation. Usually, a reputable company will give you about 15 days of personal time (vacay & sick). The facts that you don’t get a laptop or vacation seem very shady. Hopefully you’ve checked out this company thoroughly, maybe done a D&B on them or some other research. Hopefully not a ghost job.

If you’re confident in the new company, take the leap. $40k can buy a nice vacation.

I say this from experience. I left a job I was comfortable in to go with a startup. It was great for 6 months. Good position, they sent me to Japan on a business trip, a company party every month. 6 months after I joined, they went bankrupt. So I was left with no job, a mortgage, and an unemployment rate that was at least double what it is today. Three months later, I had a new job. Not sorry. My old job had no upward mobility and I had just gotten my MBA.

After that long winded analysis, I would say, take the leap (option A) if you’re absolutely confident in the new company. If you think it’s shady, keep looking. Do your research on the company and its financials. From your description of your current position, it sounds a bit like a dead end, which is probably why you’re looking in the first place.

Good luck!

Just an amendment, didn’t know that A was for a consulting company. The computer and vacation issues are more understandable. Just make sure it’s reputable. I’ve worked with many consultants and their pay is enviable but a trade off in benefits and job security. Many are not bothered by this because of the higher pay. Some find a company they like and become full time employees eventually.
