I am always interested in people working in tech, regardless of the position. With you, I get to enjoy your pics as an added bonus.

I was in college and had an internship at Intel. I was then hired full time and worked for a few months but I received an offer for another company and so I left because I had heard there were to be layoffs and wasnt sure if I would be safe, as Intel is one of those companies that is notorious for mass layoffs. Turns out about a month after I left, I would have been laid off. I then worked for about a year at the other company. Then that position ended, quickly got hired at Amazon, but they used me for a quick project of only 3-4 months and a big report I created, and that ended. It wasnt right for me but it still sucked. So then I worked my at the job I have now, again in tech, but it is strongly looking like Ill be leaving that in a few days and taking this other position.
The one now is a consulting company. Its a mixed bag, as mentioned before, with my manager being awesome, some of the higher ups being great, and a few team members being great, and a few ppl that are absolutely horrirfic, especially the one I talked about earlier, as well as the main stakeholder who is absolutely terrible. So those factors, and some others (like doing work I wasnt hired to do at all...not like helping out with someone or even on a small project or whatever, but absolutely doing shit I wasnt qualified for, knew how to do right or anything but expected to do because we didnt hire others due to budget/scope etc) led me to being very unhappy and casually looking around, hence me working with the prospective employer over the last several months.
In case you missed it, I was headhunted back in late Sept, had an itnerview with two ppl in Oct, told I passed the interview but then they didnt have a project for me, so I was in limbo. I reached out a month later but it was still sort of on hold. They then reached out and said they want to itnerview me again in Dec, I passed that, and then it went silent again! Then got a call a couple weeks ago asking if I was willing to work Eastern time zone, I said yes, and then finally told yesterday I got the job, starts Feb 3, but dont have an official call/paperwork/background check to do YET. Supposed to come in today or tomorrow.
So mean while my current job project is ending, and theyre actively looking for another project for me, likely have one but Ill be one of two or three candidates, so the client has to pick me over someone else...
So nothing is a sure thing but both are very promising, especially the first one obviously.
But I like tech since I understand web campaigns, software lifecycles and implementations and migrations...that sort...and I dont really know as much about many other project management types of stuff (like say...launching a new tangible product, or building a new hospital...).

Gorgeous and so sexy! I love nipple piercings, especially rings, but I have not seen ones that encircle the nipple rather than hanging from it. Thank you for adding a new favorite nipple piercing to my list! Very inspiring!

A. move to new job. pays more...like a lot more (like seriously, 40k more). does NOT pay for vacation time. potentially decently UNDERqualified and that poses some serious risk for sure. might be awesome experience to add to resume and new contacts and exposure etc. might have to use own laptop as opposed to being given one which would suck for checking email/lit/banking/spotify/youtube etc.. bigname client. been working on landing this job for about four months or so.

B. stay at current job. work on different project with different team. pay is still quite good just not elite. does pay vacation like a full-time job (not contract etc). last project didnt work out for variety of factors so maybe there is a "flag" in your file. new project sounds right up yer alley. work in a "silo" of sorts,s o you arent depending on tons of people which could be a good or bad thing.

One thing I have learned is never take a job for money. Do what is going to make you happy. My opinion is there is no point to more money if you are going to be miserable

Both potential options have pros and cons (like any job), of which money is one factor to consider but it is not my deciding factor by any means. However, when there is a huge difference between the two, that factor definitely has to be considered. The jobs and duties are somewhat similar, both are remote, so most of those do tend to cancel out...hence the other logistics need to be weighed...ie, a job that has me flagged as someone who couldnt handle the previous position HOWEVER they still support me and want me to succeed (this is both a pro and a con...its a tough one to value!)...vs one that I have been looking at as something desirable and interesting, yet might be slightly overwhelming or extra challenging etc. Again, a pro and a con.
Trust me if it was 70k vs 75k, Id go with whatever the one that seemed to interest me more or had better potential for rising in the ranks etc.
As its a dramatic difference in pay, it has to be considered.

How do you know what are the specs for a new laptop for work?
TBH, the BYOD thingy is nice but not professional.
A serious company should keep the right to control their employees' working devices because those contents can be confidential or secret or whatever and especially if and when you work remotely.
I use 3 laptops:
1 laptop provided by the employer for the company related communications and administrative tasks.
1 laptop provided by the client for working in their environments.
1 my personal laptop for doing any personal stuff.
The first 2 can be wiped remotely if they want but by default those are monitored I can use for the bare minimum for personal stuff.
Also I don't read company emails or chats on my mobile.
